MP3Night Turbo Build

Hey man. Hows the car running? I have a question for you. You know the pain in the ass c-clamp that secures the HKS BOV to the flange? When you installed yours, how far did the c-clamp retract into the flange. Mine seemed like it was sticking out a bit after getting it in, but it didn't really expand much more when I tried to seperate the ends, so I left it....long story short, my BOV popped off first time I hit boost.

I'm wondering if you really put pressure on it, to get the clamp into the flange, or if you just put it in, and let it spring into place naturally? I'm hoping it's just the clamp and not a bigger issue.

^^Its running pretty good I need to tune a little because my fuel injectors are kind of freaking out lol, but I was able to drive it around though I'm loosing psi because of that damn c clamp mine is having that same problem I just can't get it to sit all the way in...Maybe I just need to push it down really good when I slip the clip in.

oh wow, I thought I was the only one to have that problem. Did yours pop off? Mine flew through the air. It would have gone about 30 ft up if the vac line hadn't stayed attached. I didn't really have the right tool to install it so I had to rig something up to get it in. Let me know if you get it figured out.

Dang! Well mine didn't fly off, but it did make a really loud noise like something exploded under my hood. Yeah I'll let you know I'm about to start messing with it to get it down

Heres another update on the car: I put the oil relocation kit on today its on the far left top of the engine bay. I got a oil check light after I put the kit on, but everything is running fine and the lines are getting a sufficient amount of oil psi. The engine bay is getting pretty messy and crammed so I'll be doing a clean up soon. Took the car on a run got up to 3.5psi lol, I'm loosing boost out of the bov flange because I'm having a problem getting the damn c-clamp to sit in the groove so I'm buying the tool for it tomorrow like i should have. I'll be fitting my bumper tomorrow and putting the oil cooler in!

oh whew!! i though you were using those plastic lines for the oil filter relocation lol the ss line looks similar

ive been wanting to do that too, but put it right where the windshield washer fluid is (took mine out)
i wonder if you could run the return line to an oil cooler then back to the back of the block....hmmm

Haha no there ss lines. That would be a good place to put the oil filter there. I don't know if it could reach...thats something to think about

Hey man, I was able to get the clip in yesterday morning. I put a clamp on the whole bov and flange to keep the o-ring compressed, and then I used that channellock c-clip tool to get it in, then I tapped it down at like three spots, and it noticeably clicked into place. I definitely didn't have it all the way in last time.

^^Nice man. I got the tool today, but still having problems getting my bumper on. The fogs are getting in the way

Yeah, I had that problem. I have the fog deletes, so I was able to cut away most of the back of the foglight housing. I hacked the inside of the bumper up pretty badly, and I had to mess around with the height of my IC and piping in order to get everything to jive. Have you made an progress with it?

Yeah the fog lights seem to be passing the piping, but I think the the IC is sticking out to much. I went for a couple of runs and my coolant was boiling, but I was driving pretty hard on it...still though should that even do that even after less then 30mins? Also the engine was not over heating

my coolant boils as well after hard drives.. but it doesn't overheat.

So did a few more things tonight finally able to because I don't have a garage and it kept raining. So I moved my oil relocation kit down where the washer fluid goes and re-wired my gauges before it got dark. I found out a way to move the ic back so I can fit my bumper back on so I'll be doing that tomorrow, also I'll be mounting the oil cooler too.
