Turbo Matty P

Nick, I'm sold...tell me when and where.
You can run anywhere from 280cc stock injectors to 1900cc. I can program it to run alcohol. It doesnt matter.hukster00 said:if we buy bigger injectors i asume the ems will be programd for them ? and up to what rpm will the ems be programd for ?
thanks,
The Motec unit is fantastic. Like any system it has slight drawbacks. First things that come to mind is the price and software from Motec are outrageous. Dos and the fact that you will pay DOUBLE for the necessary hardware related to using it for your application. BUT it works very well and we will using them in the future on the protege and many other applications. This spring we are looking into getting our account up and running again with them.turbo_p5 said:Perf, I wish you had announced this earlier, Ive been bugging AEM if they would ever come out with one and they gave me no info. So last week I had a wiring harness specialist to make me a harness to work with my Motec M4. so how do you feel about the M4 compared to the AEM. I would have liked to use the AEM PnP, for cost, and ease of install. but I guess you cant go wrong with Motec.
The cooling system in the MSP and protege seem to be comparible. The MSP is a little thicker of a core but at the boost levels they run stock it is OK. BUT when you really lay into her she builds up heat VERY quickly. MY recommendation is the AWR unit. It works well on there track cars. This is a very serious point though that shouldnt be over looked. The stock 2.0l core is not sufficient.jrodhotrod said:Nick, add me to your list of seriously interested buyers.
When you say cooling system upgrades are you implying that we primarily upgrade the stock MSP radiator? IF so, any recommendations as far as standard 2.0L good? What about AWR vs. the PWR?
I have a FMIC and will have turbo back exhaust by the time I am ready for this.
What am I looking at running safely in terms of boost and output with this unit on California 91 octane gas and the supporting mods of FMIC, CAI, 3" Turboback exhaust, EBC or Boost through the PNP. The money for internals isn't there yet.
NO You are welcome to PM me for the updated number.LinuxRacr said:Nick, I'll give you a call. Is your number still the same?
perfworks said:I really dont want to comment yet on power output until we test and dyno ours at a compatible 93 octane and similar mods. The problem with this would be that at the present time I dont have fact to back it up. I will in the comming weeks though and I can speculate a little more accurately then.
perfworks said:It depends on the size of the turbo NOT PSI.
The wagner kit is pieced together perfectly for someone looking to run stock internals and moderate boost. The AEM will alllow the boost level you wish but efficiently and not fighting the ECU to get it.
I will go into why in a big post below. There is alot of info I want to share about this.
Yes, All your "alien" comforts are still there and in tact.svxin said:so do we still have all the creature comforts like speedo dome light etc... does everything still work as far as tach and everything??
I will have more of an idean when we conclude our testing on the shop vehicle. Then, after the dyno sessions, I WILL comment on expected power gains thru various modifications.midnightracr said:Nick: Say I'm running the standard kit with I/C & the AEM with 10 or 11psi just how much hosepower to the tire would u expect it to make
Thanks we appreciate thatMazdaspeedNJ said:Looking at all these posts.....I think Nick might be the most patient man on earth. Way to go man. You guys rock....
I wasnt able to get that in time. Thanks for helping me out with your postseatbackfurther said:midnightracr: he said he wasn't going to speculate about power gains. he was waiting for the 'facts'
All of our base mapping will be for 93 octane east coast piss fuel. BUT we have a car out in california that will be our test model and adjust the timing curve a bit.WillisW555 said:Will you have any maps for 91 octane? California has crap for gas. My friend dun blew up his s/c A4 cause it had a 93 octane map and the guy didn't tell him that until after... kaboom
