im just curious about flushing our engine.....i mean is there some kind of problem using it.....i have 52000 mi......i just want to know pros and cons

I dont think its a good idea. Motor flush has chemicals that could be harmful to the ballbearings in the turbo...

seafoam it !!!! jk i heard that stuff causes the turbo to start leaking oil....i use atf before i change my oil to clean the motor,so far no problems.(google)

Keep your engine clean by making sure you change the oil and filter on schedule. You do not need flush service or the pour in flush treatment. Unless you want to f-up your engine and decrease its life. If there is sludge(doubtful) you don't want it to break off clog up the turbo oil lines, oil pump and engine passages.

Seafoam does not deteriorate the seals and cause the turbo to leak. It works with the oil and does not have to be drained when you use it. But its not a flush, its a motor treatment.

i usually get 2 extra quarts of oil to pour in before i put the oil pug back in.

you can look under the car right when you pour it in and actually see it clear up a little as it drains back out.

is this needed? is this justified? to me it is.

Seafoam in the oil put a bad taste in my mouth although it says it can be used on turbo'ed cars... after 4 years running perfect 6 months after using seafoam in the oil my turbo went out. Maybe a coincidence but after thinking what it's actually doing stripping the build up out; it has to cycle back through the engine and turbo??!

Who knows shane, anything is possible? I don't add it to my crankcase, just do the pcv and gas tank. 5 years and no issues. I know a few automotive and diesel mechanics that swear by the stuff. The engine builders that I know say not to use flushes. To each their own as they saying goes.

Look into a product called Auto-RX. From what I undertand it has been extremly helpful on the 1.8t jettas with cleanign out the sludge issue that their known for without causing any harm.

^^^^ one of my friends has 1.8T and he just used that Auto-RX , expensive though , but he's car pulls better now

I've used it on my trucks trans and it works pretty damn good. Shifts smoother faster, and engages into gear faster.

I've also ran it though the mazda and didn't really notice anything runnign it through the oil. Other then looking though the oil fill cap that it looks a lot cleaner. I never took the valve cover off to see what it really looks like. I figured it was pretty dirty with over 130k on it.

When My mech changed out my timing belt and wp she said just by looking at the top of the head he said it could pass for a car with around 60k easy on it and not 150k. So I'm sure it worked good, but like you said its pretty pricey but works and is safe from what i understand.

Edit: I only ran it on my P5 due to the high milage. My car didnt have a oil burnign issue or leaks or anythign else of that nature. I just did it for a preventive reasoning so I saw no noitcable effects from the auto-rx.
