can u post the picture here? some of us dont have an account over there

Seems cool and all, but it looks like it's gonna cost around $400? Not worth it to me.

It's worth it to me, when I watch my pressure gauge drop very low when cornering hard left, kind of makes me wish I had a little protection so I don't starve the engine of oil. Rights are fine, lefts are a killer. If I cut my wheel hard left, almost break the rearend loose, the pressure drops very low. Also, when I cut my wheel all the way left, and drive in a circle, the oil is pulled away from the pickup, so my gauge reads very low, and pulsates. This helps simulate hard cornering, and track racing.

I cant watch my oil gauge while cornering hard... i have to hold the wheel to tight and watch the road....

kooldino - they are definately worth it. anything that helps save the engine is worth it...and with reduced windage you'll also get more power

I had a friend watching it for me. I just removed it from my steering column so he could read it.

We both nearly vomited after I was finished driving in circles. But, like I said, we noticed a hard left made the pressure drop dangerously, then it quickly jumped back to normal.

I spoke with Moroso earlier this week. They have about 3/4 of the design comnpleted. They are still behind with this project. I'm going to give them a call next week to see what the status is. Even if it were ready, my car has been in pieces for over two weeks, but should be running by the end of the week. I hope. Anyway, as soon as I get more information, I'll pass it along.

From soulstylee:

I spoke to my inside guy at Moroso intensively yesterday. He apologized for not keeping me updated, but anyway here's the scoop. The FS oilpan is still in the works, to be manufactured as a production item. Although, it has been pushed to the back of the sport compact list. Basically a stream of custom orders came in, more than usual, and the powers that be prioritize them. So, at this rate, it could be many more months before we see a product. As of now, the flange has been designed, the placement of the pickup has been determined, and a general sense of a final product has been envisioned. My block is still up there to help in anyway throughout the design process.

My insider wants to get this done, it opens up a new market for them. For now he said there is only one way to push this back up to the priority list. In addition to myself, if someone else puts an order in for a custom pan, then the design and manufacturing process will be started again. This is great news, because once the design is completed, then the CAD design just has to be plugged into their machines, and production can be started. If someone else is interested in helping out the community let me know. The price should be under $400, it'll be about the same price as they will be selling for once manufactured. Only one person is needed to help get this rolling again. Once the order is placed, turn around time should be aprroximately 5 weeks. Let me know who is interested, and I'll provide you with the poroper contect information.

If it were closer to summer Id order the pan, but the ummm... plans, haven't gotten the funding they need yet.

Without the investment of one other individual, aside myself, we're not likely to see these pans for quite a while. Someone has got to be interested in getting one of the first two pans manufactured. And, the price will be basically the same as when they are for sale through Summit and other distributors.

What would it cost for someone else to get in on it? If they want to test to make sure in fits the protege, they can send me one :D

damn if this was only a month from nowww..

Thanks for your hard work on this soul..it's appreciated..I really wish I could help you out..

I really don't know the price yet. An educated guess, $300-$500. That's the general price of their other import pans.
