Mazda 3 GS Red Metallic
Long strory short, I was on the 15 south before the exit for the 40 west in Montreal. A &^%%&% in his dodge caravan realizes that he's going to miss his exit (40 west) , accelerates, passes me from the left hiting a construcion pilon (large-ones and orange) that hits his left mirror, the mirror hits his driver window, the window pieces shattered into my 3. And all this time I'm bejhind him. Result, chips of paint gone all over my car and the winshield... see it by your selves. And only 850km on it in 2 weeks!

Get him to pay for your damages out of his pocket. That way you won't have to file a claim. You should avoid claiming for stuff like this, even when not at fault.

Well, now that the inspector from the Inssurance checked the car I have to make a decision and I need your help guys. Should I repaint the hood, side, door, etc or just retouch where the paints is gone.

Any one in the Montreal area knows of a good body-shop?

considering you have a copay, shouldn't you just get the whole thing painted instead of the touchup? i should cost the same thing either way, unless you're going on your own with the touchup. I guess it depends on how much your copay is and how bad the damage is.

Good luck!

I'm not a paint expert but I would think that the mica chips in the paint would make any touchup job look obvious. Since it's so new I'd get it painted at a good shop.

There is a really good body shop I get my work done with it's called Carosserie Roxboro in Roxboro. There right in between Auto-Link and auto Dpot, you cant miss it. On Boul. Gouin The reason I recomend them is that I go there and they rock second of all my dealer sends all there Mazda's there for body work.

just a heads-up ... when you make a claim to a insurance company, they dont tally up the amount, they just put a 1 claim note in your folder ... the more claims, the bigger the price .. i smashed my other car for 7000 bucks and i got told by numerous sources that even if it wouldve been for 1500 bucks, it would be the same end result ... one claim!

the only time it matters (the final dollar amount) is when you total your car ... now they know how much they took out of their wallet.

so my advice to you is get the whole thing repair because you will forever look at those little scratchs and regret to have bought this new car

my 2 cents
