more power please!!

hey everyone! i'm knew to the site and to mazdas but i thought i'd check it out.

my sister drives a 2.0L 2004 mazda 3.... I must admit its a pretty nice car, the only thing is IMO its lacking power!! I myself drive a jetta TDi with injectors, chip, and bigger turbo, the thing is a tourqe monster, and i'd love to see the mazda preform, or even out preform my car. i was seriously considering a turbo and still am but are there any other mods rather then the usual intake and exhaust? and would it be possible to use the cams out of a 2.3 in the 2.0 and if not where can i find a set of overlapping cams? thanks!!

Is the hiboost kit for the 2.0? Nope it's for the 2.3. But he has a big boost kit for the Protege 2.0 liter engine. I would send him a pm or email if your interested in a custom kit.

I think the 1.8 & 2.0 are protege kits. So to fit it on a MZ3 with a 2.0 engine would probably require some modification to the pipes and such.

There is a 2.3 kit for both the 6 and 3.

I talked with Greddy earlier this year and they said they had no plans of making any parts for the 3 yet. Maybe more people asked them (hopefully) so they will start!

You should search, but the 2.3l kit will physically fit the 2.0 Mazda3. The computer however, will need to be tuned for it. HiBoost is working on getting a tune for the 2.0. If you are seriously interested, get in touch with him, and if you live close enough, he may be able to tune it on your car, and use that for the "2.0 kit".

edit: F2Focus isn't actually working on a turbo(My post said they did for about 10 min), just checked the post.

I was at XS (XS Engineering i'm assuming you mean) and they offered a full custom kit for around 4500 using mostly HKS pieces. Price wasn't confirmed as they weren't familiar with the applications and they wanted to use HKS' new F-Con unit (think it's called that). If you want custom, XS will do it for sure, just need to have the $$ ready to fork over.
