Misfire Question

2002 Mazda P5
Hey Guys. I've got a 2002 P5 manual with 82,000 mi. I've been getting some misfires at idle and under load but it isn't throwing a CEL. By under load I mean if you're in a gear higher than you should be and 1,500 rpm. It also will occasionally misfire at idle and when you give it moderate gas from idle. I've cleaned the EGR and MAF but it hasn't helped. I don't think its the EGR since it comes down from high RPM to 700 at idle smoothly (except the occasional misfire). After talking to the local parts guy he seemed to think it could be bad gas since there is no CEL. We've also had a recent cold snap and he said its going around. I also only drive about 5 miles to work so the P5 so its mostly short runs. The plugs, wires and coils are fairly new, only about 20,000 on them. I've put some HEET and Seafoam in the tank but haven't had a chance to drive it enough to work it through the system. Just curious what your guys thoughts' are.

Thanks

Quick Update: I took it for a drive to work the Heet/Seafoam through. It seems to only misfire at idle and under load <2000 rpm. Maybe I should look at the EGR valve again.

id check the sparkplugs again. it only takes 5 minutes

i had a stubble/ i guess it could be the same as a misfire changed the plugs and it was gone.

I've got the NGK coppers in it. I read up before replacing them. I pulled and cleaned the EGR valve like it has never been cleaned before and now its doing fine. I also know aobut lugging it but that was the one sure fire way of getting it to skip.
