Michael Moore thinks you're an idiot!

Yeah like how? Since you are the authority of life in America you tell me how Bush has screwed up American lives here, since I'm sure you see it everyday.

Good example of ignorance.

I have a better job than I ever did. My neighbors are doing great. A couple of them lost their jobs because the head of their company was stealing money and they had better jobs within a week. Unemployment in the USA is lower than it has been in many years. Maybe if the rest of the world wasn't so concerned with our affairs they could improve their own state. I've yet to see a country any better off for taking shots at the US and trying to drag it down.

I'm american, but I have to side with the Candiens on this one. Every decision our government makes effects not only us, but others as well, especially countries like our friendly neighbors to the north.

unemployment can only be gauged by the people receiving unemployment cheques... when those run out, they're still unemployed - just more poor than anybody else.

either way... your example is flawed, Canada's unemployment rate went up by .1% over the past 6 months... i've gotten a promotion and a raise (with 2 more on the horizon) and my GF just got a raise..

i wouldn't agree to say that Bush's decisions affect EVERY family in a negative way... but they undoubtedly affect a few million families in a negative way - at the least.

I understand that, in International affairs. But in the case of domestic policies like healthcare, social security, welfare, gun control, crime, etc etc, that is what effects us. My original point was someone, who doesn't even live here can't make a generalization that we are worse off since bush came into office.

I agree. The job market especially where I am is great. Crime is down, public services are better than ever, and healthcare is improving.

^^ actually.. your gun control problems do affect Canadians... where do you think our gangs 'n s*** get their guns from?

handguns and any semi-automatic (or automatic) are illegal for civilians in Canada... the US's loose gun control policies affect us.

but then again.. we provide the US with tons of weed every year... so maybe we're even :P

I said almost everyone, and if you see all the rural towns and the housing near indutries you will understand what I mean

I do see it, and the figures don't lie. America has been doing better than ever. There are more homeowners than ever, average salary has gone up, and unemployment rate down. Healthcare is now also available to more people than ever before, and prices of presciption medicine is going down. Education is prices has gone up, but so has the amount of movie given out for financial aid, scholarships, and grants, plus interest rates are staying steady. Yes some towns have been hit hard, but take a look around, people are doing better than they have 2 years ago.

Well gun control's issue is pretty deep here, and to many is considered a constituational right. But automatic weapons are probably not neccessary for home defense. Your gun control policy is much more strick but like the weed issue its probably more of an issue of policing the borders better. So what is illegal in canada doesnt get smuggled from the US and what is illegal in the US doesn't get smuggled in from canada. Sadely, it's always a give and take issue.
