it'll be good to have all this s*** so that it can be added to the faq ;)

ahh yeah..

well i can tell you (for the FAQ) that there are only 26 sets of these in existence..and its highly unlikely more will ever be produced :P

so um....you can say the chances of ever getting a hold of a set are pretty slim.

I'll try and dig up the spec sheet if i can find it.

wohooo my J&S Is already at the Spanish Customs, that means ill have it by this friday ready to be installed on my car, more updates and pictures coming tonight my time.....

good news miguel! i'm happy for you.. can't wait to see it running.. you keep telling me to check your thread..when're you checking mine??:)

Miguel can you scan those instruction and email it @ my AIM sn.

I guess I'll either wait a bit longer and see if I find another one here or I'll go with the new unit.

Do you have a pic of the back of the engine , just want to get an idea of where the coolant line is connected to

BTW- that oil return line looks like its burned from the dp or from the block or its just dirt ?

Few more pictures , the Engine is officially in the car, here are few pictures i took today, car is going to be running and back at the street i assume by the end of the week for break in process then tune to try to achieve our goal..

Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel Along with ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate and ACT 6 Puck Racing Sprung Clutch in my humble opinion based on my personal experience after using Exedy and Spec in the Past, ACT is simply the best overall clutch out there you can get with your eyes clos

I hope you didn't use the bad throwout bearing that comes with the ACT clutch kit

Well, its ******* good Edwin, Thats what i putted when i did my first ACT clutch in my previous build til date not a problem, i cant tell on this round 2 one how is going to be so far good, ACT makes good solid s*** i can vouch that, last thing ive heard ACT Uses Mazda OEM ones, the Specs clutchs are the one that uses s*** throwout bearing not ACT.

The car is still probably in the air, so I'm sure he's thankful for that reminder in case he forgot.

Just so I know, as I was looking at ACT clutches for my MS6, is there something innately wrong with ACT's throwout bearings?

they use the cheapest piece of s*** they can supply "free" in their kits?
I know for sure exedy supplies koyo bearings (maker of the OEM mazda one)

I've seen/heard tons of throwout bearing noise/failures in cars that used the ACT kit's bearings... proteges included

the stock s*** isn't even that great anyway, and the aftermarket ones are worse!
my stock throwout bearing was ready to blow up at 65000 miles... I still have it to show to people how bad it is (like I said, aftermarket is even more bad)... it has tons of runout and free play!
I'm just glad I upgraded to the mazdaspeed b-spec one that's rated for 8000rpm.... it's not meant to go in my car, but I made it work! it's for a turbo II rx7!

just so anyone knows, the 3 and the ms3 uses this same bad bearing too and there's people bitching about throwout bearing problems already too

any further info on this? ever think about posting a how to? cuz that would solve alot of problems that people are having...also since the MS3 and the MZ3 both use the same bearing im assuming that the Bspec one would/could fit those cars as well?

Miguel,
When are you getting the 505 IM? I'm kinda curious as to know why you would bother bolting on the 626 IM when you know you'll be installing Rich's beauty? Doesn't make much sense to me unless it won't be ready for some time, which isn't what I read in his thread...
Twiggy turbo cams (ones that have been fixed, and i believe they all ended up getting fixed in the end) should be bolt in and drive away. Of course cam gears is going to yield the best results for a particular application, but they should be just fine to bolt in.

Never heard of anyone having to "dyno tune with cam gears" - hell i'm still waiting for someone to post a dyno print out of a ride with the twiggys in - afaik, most of them are sitting on shelves in garages gathering dust while people get the rest of their builds together.

The only people who really NEED to muck with cam timing are the people who bought NA or FI cams and are now wanting to run them on the other setup (only difference in the profiles was the pin location - FI had next to no overlap, NA had a truck load) - or people with NA cams who cannot deal with the high idle and lope..

Also, theres no need to shim the Twiggies (can't speak for the integrals) - as they were machined from blanks, and base circle was dialed in correctly at manufacture (they are not regrinds, so the base circle wasn't reduced). The exhaust cam has a larger base circle, but also has different lash specs, so reshimming shouldn't be neccessary. Most people have found moving the shims they already have around a bit gets them within spec.

That being said - they are pretty damned wild for turbo applications. Plenty of people make big gobs of power on the stock and JDM cam setup with a turbo strapped on - and whilst the gains with them would be nice, the reduction in driving pleasure at low RPM in traffic might not be something people want to really deal with ... :S

pretty awesome that you still make power at 7k with the JDM's...mine had the JDM cams from factory (aussie spec etc) and the power fell in a giant hole in the high 5000's....my 7k the motor was absolutely gasping for air.
Some people are running them (cam gears) to lower the powerband to a more user friendly level while still taking full advantage of them ;)
Round 2 of adjustment happens next week when I finally pick up some better bolts for the custom Focus cam gears...

+1 on that info on B-spec upgrade as well :)
