MazdaSpeed Shift Knob

Does anybody know which aftermarket shift knobs will fit my MSP. Looking for something nice and leather (not cold) that somewhat matches interior. Heard MP3 knob won't fit.
Any ideas?

what does the mp3 knob look like? thats weird it does not fit.

Anybody know where I can find one of those cf ones that say "mazdaspeed" on the side and have a sort of black rubber molded grip? I think I've seen some on ebay, but I'm not sure if these we ever on msp's or just aftermarket. Anyays, I think they were like $80, so I'm wondering if anybody has seen them for less.

The MP3 knob matches the MP3 steering wheel (silver, black leather). It looks really nice. I'd buy one, but if it doesn't fit, I'll look somewhere else.

the mp3 knobs should fit because the msp and mp3 have the same shifter

Well, there is obviously a bit of disagreement as I've heard both stories: that the knob fits and doesn't. I think someone is going to test it out this weekend and find out for sure!

the threads are diffrent on the mp3 and the msp's the mp3s have a diffrent thread than the msp's, p5's and regular protege's. The mp3's are the odball.

the mp3 knob fits ONLY two shifters - the one in the mp3 and the one in the sport automatic proteges. the thread pitch is the same however for the protege, mazdaspeed protege, protege5, mazda6, mazda3, and japanese five speed mazda rx-8.

all of the short shifters have the same thread pitch as the above listed cars as well, so the mp3 knob will not fit an aftermarket protege short shifter.
