mazda protege 5
So what i am thinking of doing, is getting a mazdaspeed protege front clip, and swapping everything, including transmission(i have automatic), turbo, ECU, and other small parts that are critical and that will give me power.

So what i am asking is has anyone done this, know where i can get front clips? Because i think if i go to junkyard and just buy each part it will cost me quiete a bit. I am just not happy with the power front my Automatic protege 5. I want more hp.

I was going to just buy a turbo and keep automatic but is that worth it?

I'd say just turbo the automatic man! It will be hell of a lot less hassel and down time. not to mention you can build up the auto. Several people on this forum have a turbo auto.

Edit: Trust me theirs a lot more involed with a atx to mtx swap then you think.

Edit #2: This is just a start of what you will need for a complete atc to mtx swap. The dash harness is different between the auto and atx. So you will have to splice into the stock atx dash harness or pull the dash and swap in a mtx dash harness.

1. Shifter plate
2. Shifter
3. Clutch Master Cylinder
4. Fluid Lines
5. MTX Transmission
6. Clutch
7. Fly Wheel
8. MTX ECU
9. MTX Tranny Harness
10. Clutch Pedal
11. Brake Pedal
12. MTX drive shafts
13. Shifter cable
14. Pressure Plate

oh btw you can get a built auto for the p5 or about 1.8k ircc from lentech to support 275 whp.

but if i get a crashed mazdaspeed protege, or just the front clip of it. Doesn't that have everything already in it??? yeah it's a lot of work..... Is it possible for me to take the turbo out of the mazdaspeed protege and just put that in my car??

and the ECU? I am just trying to get more power out of my car

i drove a manual p5 it felt so different and made me want to swap. Because to turn my auto p5 a kit costs around 4000. And i don't know if that is worth it.

u would need the turbo and all turbo components, manual tranny, lsd, msp ecu, and depending on if u go front mount or not a new radiator!

You could put the MSP turbo into your car but you will need to get somethign to tune it with so it doesnt pop. I also wouldnt go any higher then stock boost either.

he can go higher then stock boost as long as he has the mods to back it up!its the same motor as the msp! i wouldnt go anymore then 10 psi!

He can but then again even the MSP has been known to pop at stock boost with a rich ass tune. Which is why I don't suggest going high then stock. Even bolt on MSP's have poped at stock boost.

No need to swap over internals. I'd think swapping the trannies, the turbo manifold, the ECU and the wiring harnesses will be enough. Or just get the manifold and turbo and add a piggyback to give yourselrf a little more gasoline... just run an O2 clamp to hold down ECU-fightback.
