Mazdaspeed in Magazine

Cryogen the tranny...Turbo Magazine had a article on that...how deisel tractor pulling contestents crogent there turbos so they can get more pulls out of them. Wonder how much that would cost...

Tried to email circuit-sport about this inteercooler and my mail bounced. anyone have any luck getting ahold of them?

Hey guys, just got the new turbomagazine and its got a project msp in it also. All they did was Flash it and put in guages....they found that the flash created an 8hp loss.. wtf!! If this s*** is true im f*ckin pissed with Mazda. They say they've installed Ion FMIC and Intake but it has no dyno or stats about it.

I was very pleased to read this article in Import Racer. Has anyone tried to contact this vendor? I find it pretty odd for a vendor to just come out of no were and have there parts used in a car build up, unless they dont plan on going into production.

WOW! The Ion web site ROCKS! Tons of great information.(huh)

LOL HAHAHAHA I was gonna say something along those lines but I thought id hear it for saying something...Its been up for over a year I think and hasnt changed at all

I emailed the company as well and my email bounced said they couldnt find that add.

Have any of you had the though that its possible "Protosport" has turned into circuit sport? Maybe the two guys teamed up and kicked steph out? Dunno just a thought. Now the protosport website is down... LoL(huh) That Upper Strut bar looks familar...

well, steph was never a part of any company......she was just helping a "friend"......

who then dissapeared.

and we would know if the 2 companies merged......usually companies like to advertise themselves. and if that was the case, Luke would have many customers among MOCC.

Well i dont get it. If thats going to be possibly mazdaspeeds smic... and downpipe. They are goin to offer the same EXACT product? How would you know if the 2 companies merged if the "friend" disappeared. Maybe theres some conflict between mazda and circuit-sports?

not "going to be"
that downpipe is out, i have it on my car.....as do many of other people with MSP's

like i said, if it was that simple then there would not be a point for the "friend" to dissappear. many companies have beef with Mazda.......Sparco is one of them (hence the discontinued Sparco pieces in 03.5). not a big reason to dissapear, especially with people's money.

man, I couldnt get the pics to work for some reason so I just ran down to 7-11 and picked it up and I'm glad I did, it is an awesome read. I never really noticed Import Racer! before but now they are going to get a second look from me from now on....

How interested would everyone be on a new sidemont that replaces the stock innercooler? Just wondering cuz I might get a local shop (forge) to fab up one if there is enough interest.

I am really down with this idea as long as it works as well as the one reviewed here and it is not 900.00$ An IC that small that is effective should not cost a gigantic sum of money.

Put me down. Orlando is just an 1hour or so away. I like the idea of a SMIC that doesn't cost $900. If its reasonable, I'll come and pick one up.

Cool...im kinda busy this weekend and next week but I will introduce the idea to tom, since hes looking into making parts for the speed. I will open up a feeler thread to engage interest and see if this is what people want. So stay tuned! Forge does make alot of Innercoolers but I dont think it will be $900 for a sidemount. I just bought import racer magazine and they made out the stock OEM "innercooler" to be really horrible...so it might be a part worth investing...for those who dont want to fork $900-$1000 for a FMIC kit.

Greetings from Jax, FL... I would be in for this upgraded SMIC also.

As a newbie here with few posts, but who has read a great number of them, it seems worth mentioning what others might be thinking: that an upgraded SMIC strikes a good compromise between better performance and warranty retainment when compared with a FMIC.

I'm also wondering if the stock radiator's small size and limited effectiveness is being given sufficient consideration by those thinking about converting to a FMIC. Some of the FMICs popping up of late have the inlet pipe (turbo to I/C) crossing in front of the radiator to get to the FMIC inlet. This is bound to block air flow to the radiator, which must already contend with diminshed flow due to the I/C itself blocking the flow to the lower half of the rad. There's a string from a while back where someone even had some cooling concerns with the stock radiator with the ION FMIC installed (which does not have the long piping in front of the rad). The recommendation there: install a rad from a P5, which is possible with the ION kit. That kind of talk discourages me from upgrading to a non-ION FMIC that might cause even more heat disappation problems then the ION kit, much less not allow for an upgraded rad.

But it seems the chief disadvantage of the ION kit is that it might jeapardize the warranty. The upgraded SMIC could easily be swapped with the OEM SMIC for warranty work, and warranty retainment my friends, is worth ALOT in my book.

Just felt like commenting...
