Mazdaspeed in Magazine

Thats right they did do the CAI a while back I read it will quick yesterday I must of confused with the last one never the less they still didn't really do anything IMO. Once they do some real Mods they sould jump on the MSP wagon.

Yeah...thats article is basically what discreet speed has...very impressive. and we all know what Discreet speed can do.

I just went to go find the new Import Racer mag and it not on newsstands here yet. Still march. Probably next week

Discreetspeed=Kabooom...j/k :) Maurice...Screen name Discreetspeed from houston. The guy who took videos of him smoking a EVOVIII and WRX with stage 2? the guy who runs 15 psi I think...on race gas. He also did a dyno awhile back.

Awesome. I'd never heard of circuit sports, are they relatively new to the protege scene? It's cool to get more and more options for aftermarket parts for us. Thanks a lot for scanning the article.

From this article, it seems that it is very easy to get the MSP up to 200whp or ~230 hp at the crank. Hopefully if the "new flash" is reality, we could see even better performance out of the car. A FMIC would probably give better results together with a full turbo like the one from Ion.

Uh, spacemonkey I'm pretty sure we all know who he is. It was a smart-ass remark I was making, hence the :D

What's interesting to me is that they did the ecu upgrade to get more duty out of the injectors. Why doesn't someone offer a piggy back that does just this. Everyone is talking about AEM's system not working because our ECU doesn't recognize it or something like that. I mean it works but you lose options, tach..etc... IF these guys did it, I'm curious as to how they got the car to run better using stock ECU just new maps.... BUT HOW? thanks because I want this done and I'll pay to have it done, but what if I want it back to stock, how would I reset factory ECU settings?

I believe the ECU upgrade they did is the "reflash" done by the dealer.

I didn't see anywhere in the article that they got more duty cycle out of the injectors. All I read is "Luke creeps up on boost to match a safe 75-80 percent injector duty cycle." I don't think he got in there and adjusted D/C of the injectors. Also, in the next paragraph it says "The second step of this study is to increase the boost pressure level while maintaining an adequate factory ECU setting, injector duty cycle and reliable safety margin." And if he did, why does the black sidebar say they are going to install a new ECU controller in the upcoming article? To me it sounds like he just turned up the boost to 9.4psi. Big deal, a lot of people here have done that. These cars are so pig rich, turning up the boost isn't going to lean out the A/F all that much.

The article is cool and all, but from the "Boost Up" section on, it's kinds convoluted and misleading.

Ok, thanks for putting me in my place :) , I must have just misread that, hey it happens, that's why I'm still in college at 30 years old. He he. I'm a Marine so you know how us jar heads are..... hard learning knuckle heads. They don't call me five knuckles for nothing.

By the way, is that you in your avitar on the left? Just curious. Such a naughty t-shirt you have... he he (evil grin). Let me guess, that's your girlfriend, you lucky bastard you.

Ok, Back on topic. I can read to.. :)

and there in lies the problem
But you can get the tranny shotpeened...while you are getting an upgraded clutch..and flywheel! It takes money to make this car a beast everyone knows that!
