i think if you go to corksport.com there is actually a littel mazdaspeed bar you can buy that will screw right in there.. i think its that site.... not too sure though

Thanks for that link Cheese. I just used it to buy the exhaust. Worked out a bit cheaper than Mazdastuff.com. Now I just have to wait till they are open in the morning so I can get the credit card info submitted so they can ship that baby out.

how does it sound though? ist real "rice-y" or a deep mellow boar? i want something that sounds good, but won't wake the neighbors when i start it up, you know? i want something that looks good, but that won't turn heads just by the sound.....let me know....

It's definitley louder than the Racing Beat. It's loud and rumbles at 2500-4000rpm. After that, it quiets down a bit. You can hear a little bit of a deep droning sound on the highway if you're going 110km/h flat out, but that puts your tach at around 3500rpm anyways and it's within noise reason. But when you open it up, man it sounds awesome.

damn, now i think i want to get one.... but i dunno... $200 for an axel-back system or $400 for a custom cat-back system with 3'' mandrel bent tubing.... hmmmmm..... decisions decisions...

Does it matter if you just upgrade the end? (exahust part), or better to save up money and order the whole thing? header, middle, and end?

just got it

i just got my mazdaspeed muffler yesterday. it took literally 5-10 minutes to put on with the help of my friend mike. it sounds real good. deep but not irritating...thanks everyone for helping me make my decision to buy it. peace

Are you sure you didn't get the Sport Exhaust for the protege sedan? I believe it's tip is longer and cut at a slant.

Alright...so I installed my mazda sport exhaust today and it's really sweet, but the tip sticks out like 3-4 inches and doesn't look like everyone's pics. On the instruction sheet it says it fits p5s so I don't know what the deal is.

yea, the first time the dealer installed mine it stuck out.. i read the box and it said "protege".. i told the guys thati ordered one for the "protege 5" and told them that theres a difference in length
