Check with TheMAN. I got mine through him. Just be prepared as it is e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e.

I have been looking for this part for a good while now and cannot find one. Wouldn't this be one of the best mods you could do to your car at first? You'd think keeping the temp down is one of the main goals in safety for any car.

Well yes and no. The car needs to run at a certain temp for efficiency. If you want to run super cold just remove the thermostat but it is not a good idea. How many degrees does this piece drop the temp to.

I'd assume from whatever it runs at (190 or 180) to 10 deg less or so? I dunno. I'd think you want to keep stuff slightly cooler than stock though, esp if you have mods/increase in boost.

Yea 10 degrees is not bad. I think out temp runs somewhere around there or a little higher can't remember. But yea this would be a good mod. Pending Price.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking...but don't quote me on the temp change...it might be far different...I was just taking a wild guess

I have one, but not installed yet due to motor being built. On the box its says 160 degree thermostat. I got it for around 100 bucks.

GODDAMN! Is there one for the "protege" instead of msp? I think if there was a lower degree thermostat it would cost less for the "protege" lol.

how much are stock thermostats?? I just got my msp, but I assume the stock one can't be more than a couple bucks.

Anyhow, an old hot rod trick is to drill a few holes around the outside disc on the thermostat. That lets a little coolant get through before the valve opens fully any normal temperature. That could be a possible alternative if you wanted to experiment some.

I think I paid ~$15 including tax?
