So you could use everything but the rear bumper... (you could probably still use it if you know a good bodyshop)

Even though I own a Wagon/Hatch I am going to have to say the Sedan would look sweet all dressed up in MazdaSpeed stickers. The 5 door is sweet but the Sedan just looks like it has more *growl* to start with and plenty of available room to *roar* later.

I'm biased so I voted wagon. I go back and fourth as to which car I like the looks of better and which car is better for my needs. Hatchback is really handy espcially if you want to have your dog riding back there...but something that I don't see mentioned much about the sedan is that the trunk is actually longer and more secure.
Ok yeah those considerations have less to do with the mazdaspeed version so as far as performance goes the sedan beats it on weight and has less drag right. But I have to agree with TiGrayMSP716 that getting beat by a wagon is more dramatic (or maybe funny in my opinion). Both would be nice to see. Since last time it was the 4dr so I think it's time for the 5dr this time. Tuff call I think.

The 5 door should be the new mazdaspeed. It's more distinctive and getting beat by a wagon is so much more dramatic.....

Newf, do you change cars every 2 years?

My vote is to keep the MSP. Otherwise it would be a 6 hatch back!
well, in 2000, I bought a new Civic.

2001, Mazda mp3

2003 MSP

And after seeing more MAzda 3 sedans on the road lately....if they make a Mazdaspeed Sedan

2005 MAzdaspeed 3 4 me!

:)

Newf, what are insurance premiums like on a MSP out there??

They're getting pretty ridiculous around Toronto. Not that I own a MSP.

$91/ month. That's me primary driver, and the woman 2nd. Full coverage. although I don't have that option where my rental would be paid if I had to put the car in for repairs.

I traded my mp3 a little earlier then I usually would due to the deal I got, and the fact the mp3 was clunking all over the place. Then again, the civic was even earlier due to a dealer that pissed me off. But I usually try to trade between 2-3 years. I lease, and just walk in to dealer, say I want such and such car. Pay the insurance/registration crap fees, and drive out in another car. There's a definite sweet spot for when to trade, or sell a lease, where you can get some money back, put towards new car to help pay fee's and make a small downpayment. If you can find that spot, and sell each car. You can basically drive a new car forever. Of course you'll always have a car payment as well. But, I always have a warranty, always have maint. plan ( freedom driving here in CA) so outside of tires, I never have any cost for maint.. Heck with the Mazda, I dont' have to pay ANYTHNG. Not even wipers as I get new ones every year. Brakes, rotors, pad, fluids, oil, everything all taken care of for 4 yrs.

hmmm.. dunno if anyone has seen this (you have to register) <- just checked.. apparently you don't if u click right on the link (uhm)

if that link doesn't work it's the picture from here (also register) (hmm)
http://www.media.mazda.com/photolibrary/index_e.html

it's labelled 2003.12.19 Mazda Axela SPORT MAZDASPEED A spec. (2003)
(so i guess this should work then) http://www.media.mazda.com/CGI/photolibrary/E/detail.cgi?photo=new&id=E01645

So i guess it's a wagon then? (headbang)

damn........
i am now struggling with sedan or hatch too...
i ordered a black 3 GT sedan that will arrive at the dealership in the late august. but...now..i sort of wanna change my order to a hatch.

any idea if we can get those european bumpers and grilles in north america?
I would like to know the answer to that question as well. I got on the Austrailan website and they have the black grills and diffrent bumpers but they have 4 diffrent models of the hatch and from the looks of it the body panels are diffrent among the diffrent models. The North Americian hatch is known as the SP23 in Aust.

I hope its the wagon! I'd even upgrade from my 6. Unless the MSP 6 comes out in the hatch.

The wagon is HOT - at a recent car emet, one of the Mazda fanatics (6 Mazdas over the years) was lent a fully loaded 3S wagon by his dealership, and we all took joyrides. And of course, then there was RevItUp. The wagon is the way to go!
