Here are some specs straight from mazdausa.

Sedan length - 178.7 inches Sedan weight - 2758 lbs

Hatch length - 176.6 inches Hatch weight - 2808 lbs

so with a weight difference of 50 lbs, I dont think thats really enough to make a difference. Its no different from a full tank of gas vs. empty, or even just the weight of the person

Have you driven both? In my opinion, the sedan just felt more rigid and tossable. It was easier to rotate in tight radius turns.

Or one of those fiberglass sub boxes "you kids these days" seem to love. (hah)
And that length difference is all just some plastic in the rear bumper.
Big deal.

Anyway... "The sedan will handle better, hands down" is a pretty bold statement. I'll accept that it's your opinion but unless you have some kind of proof (other than your butt dyno), I'll consider this discussion ended.

5-door was a little off vs. the PR5 on the skidpad, but did the slalom as fast as a 911 Targa. Unless you pushed either to the limit, they both handle very well.

...I think it would only be smart of them to release a few pictures, and see what people think before making 1000's of them

I was thinking the same thing. I was digging around and came up with these pics of the Mazdaspeed Axela...

Welp... since this has already been decided on and is currently being discussed in a half dozen other threads, I don't see any reason to leave this poll open.

Hatch ftw! (first)
