Mazda5 Wheel Fitment & Photo Guide

Question gang (yes I searched first but couldn't seem to find a definitive answer)- Just picked up a set of RX-8 wheels for my '08 5. Tires are 225/45-18. Anyone know anything about rubbing issues with this size?

you'll be fine

What do you guys think of 20's, preferably 20x8.5 +38 all around? What size tire should I run? Also, do you guys think that would be a little to big?

Hi Peeps,

I need some help please i have just bought works wheels which are 7.5j with a offset of +18 on the front and 8.5j offset of +18 on the rear

Please could someone help with tyre sizes, i dont mind going for a stretched look as i have no choice now, but i was thinking of 205/40/18 all round, what you think or recommend...??

Thanks in advance

I believe those tire sizes would be fine since I've ran a similar set up on a different car. I did 205/40 on a 9.5 rim. But you might into some clearance issues on the front since its quite a low offset. Its possible, but you'll be running a lot of camber.

Hi All

I'm a total Newb here. Just got a 2006 Mazda 5 GT with MT. Has stock 17's but I am wanting to put MS3 18's on. I know the 18 x 7.5 will fit without issue or spacers. Anyone have experience with the newer 18 x 8.5 MS3 rims on a Mazda 5(or same size rim)? I'd like to avoid any fitment mod's beyond some basic spacers. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info.

I will be lowering on h&r springs or eibach pro i want to go low as possible which springs sit best ...??

Can anyone shed some light on this

I would really like to see mazda5 lowered on mazda 5 specific springs as i have searched the forum and alot of members quote "h&r" or "tein" and even "eibach" but then i dont know if they are mazda5 or mazda3 lowering springs.

Thanks in advance

p.s. heres some pictures of my mazda5 and i just sprayed my wheel centres same colour as the car.

Haven't seen a lot of pics with MX5 wheels so here are mine. Was looking to change it up and found the deal of the century picking these up for $40 on Craigslist!! Heck of a lot lighter. Tires are 215/50

Very nice! 235/45 fit on there great too. :D

I was going to ask what size you had. I had just purchased the tires the day before I found the wheels so unlucky in that sense (but $40 for the wheels def made it worth it). The 7" width sure opens up more options for tires.

18x7 Mazdaspeed wheels with 225-45R18 Continental DWS tires. Lowered on H&R/Koni combo.

Just a note that this wheel and tire size combo is great at stock ride height but too much tire on the lower H&R springs. I get some rubbing on the front on tight turns or dips in the road that I never had before. Will be installing new wheels with a smaller diameter 225-45R17 this weekend.

Mine came with Michelin MXM4 tires on them in the 215/50 size. That's a proper tire fitment for that wheel width- 235/45 is usually listed as requiring a 7.5" wide wheel at the lowest end of the tire manufacturer's specifications. I did quite a bit of research before moving forward though- even to the point of grabbing an extra 17x7 and putting an oversize used 235/45 (Toyo Proxes 4) on it to see how much sidewall pinch and width loss there was from the narrower wheel. No problems, and the sidewall isn't squishy. 235/45 on a 17x7 is also really common in the Nissan Maxima community.

That's really cool news. I almost went with a 225 on the stock wheel but stuck with the same 215 this time (MXM4 as well). Can you post some pics, close ups, side shot etc.

I will this weekend- had a whole write up on tire fitment, spacers, fender lips etc. TONS of pictures.
