Mazda3 dropped with intake and exhaust! PICS

i think we are all done whining about whos wrong and whos right. (stooges) We all have opinions. i think we all just need to get along. (headbang) that works for me!

Since its only temp its ok...
Its not like he's racing with it anyway...
Plus, if he really did it "properly" then it should be fine?

I would never do a cut or lower my car though... stupid ice, mountains, pot holes, squirrels in Toronto.
(No experience on modding, just my 2cents).
For those of you that object:
1 - Not your car
2 - Not your life
3 - mind ur only business
I didnt recall him telling ppl to do a cut like him, or maybe I missed it.. lol.
But yah.. if u dun like it, go to another thread.

My opinion: Looks good but I wouldnt do it

As for the comment "RIDING ON SHOCKS"

I had that happen. My guardian didnt believe me when I said the structs are broken. So When i was delievering newspapers in the summer, I go over speed-bumps at like 1 km/h, I hear a loud "BING".. i was like ahhh ****...

but yah.. RIDING ON SHOCKS isnt as bad as it seems. I didnt lose control on a turn at 80km/h =p. car just oversteered a little...

Looks great....

But...please do NOT take this as a Flame or me "hating".... but more of a safety concern... DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!! if you get into any sort of situation in which you need to maneuver in an emergency situation...especially with other cars/traffic around you... you dramatically increase your changes of not having the right amount of control. Your "exit" and "entrance" response time will be larger and you will not have proper control of your car. Balance, body roll..etc...is all dramatically affected by cutting springs. (I applogize if I am not using the correct technical terms...but you get the idea).

Cutting springs use to be so "popular" back in the late 80s and early 90's (I did this once on my civic)...and trust me it is NOT the safe thing to do.

This is not a hit against you, but more a word of advice to other owners...Mazda3 or not.

you dumb ass canadians think you know it all..............oh wait...........i am one of them.........masturbation causes......whats that last part?

Looks good vivid

we dumbass canadians got stupid raccoons and other stupid animals up here.

stupid raccoon ***** my friends prelude's JDM kit (dunno which model... it wasnt that pretty.. but yah)... the only bumper and left fender had to be replaced

Doh....didnt realize this has 6 pages....

LOL...

Vivid....Please don't think I was trying to JUMP on the "hate" posts.... again.... this was more advice... take it as it was intended.... still looks great.....but here is a thought..

Would any of you that feel that cutting springs is an "ok" thing to do....would you want a close family member, friend, GF/BF on the same road or in the vacinity of a car that is not safe? Or be in the area of a car that can't properly control itself? Granted you may think this example a bit extreme....but there is a level of responsibility that I think is being overlooked.

Brian why are we posting here? You have a P5 and i have a MSP...damn man, whe shoudlnt even be on the same forum...sheeit....

when i first started this thread.. i was showing people a picture of my car bad idea that was... (hand) my car handles awesome! if it hasnt gone out of control or broken from the way I drive it.. then it's fine. the springs sit exactly where the stock springs sat and in perfect place. they dont move, or slip. the dont come off the set. they ar fine. if i needed to swerve, i can do it with the best of them. I would like to take some of you for a ride if you live in Arizona so you will shush about my car riding like crap haha anyways we are all into modding cars.. so let's do so with encouragement

Dunno why I was quoted... but ok...
Non-3 owners have every right to post here... they care about other forum members, nothing wrong with that. But how they express their care is not what I'm talking about.

Bottomline: He dropped his 3, he can handle his car with cut springs. Good for him, he did it properly? Which does not mean other people should do it, nor he say everyone should do it. Whether or not you like the look of ur care is ur own opinion too... if u dun like then say it while being nice about it.

Arizona?? Well, s***. There's the explanation, right there. Too much sun fries the brain. :)

Besides that, a "pothole" in AZ is like the size of a golf ball. You have to understand something, man... we (Michigan and Lower Ontario people) have potholes that swallow cars whole. I'm not even exaggerating a little bit when I say that we have s*** that causes tires, wheels, ball joints, struts, control arms, tie rod ends and anything else unsprung to break right in two on BRAND NEW cars. If we tried cutting springs around here, we'd be riding on the frame rails in about a week.
Not to mention all the little critters running around. I hit a racoon one time and it did $700 damage... to a 1989 Toyota Tercel! Biggest frickin ring-tail I've ever seen. Must have weighed 40 lbs.

Anyway, I can't agree with what you did but you have balls for doing it. A shorter spring with the stock spring rate is just asking for trouble.

Best of luck to ya!

and by the way/.. they are 205/40/17 in the front and 205/50/17 in the rear

(blah) (blah) (blah) what a bunch of snob's. every mod ever built started out as a hack job from some curious (board) kid in his driveway. at least the guy knows that this is a temp mod and should be changed as soon as the aftermarket makes somthing for us. i'm crazy to do s*** to my 3 but being a little older (and wiser) and because they just haven't built anything for this car yet, i've decided to wait. but if i were 19 with a brand spankin new 3
in a world of civics and intergras, i'd be chopping up and stripping of anything
that would cost me power.

If I were 19 with a brand new 3 I would give whichever parent bought it for me a big big kiss!!!

parents had nothing to do with the purchase of my car. The car is mine and under my name, paid for by me.
