with that said, you CAN cut your springs CORRECTLY if you know what you're doing.. Unfortunately everyone jumps on the "cutting your springs is terrible" bandwagon since they know absolutely jack about advanced suspension tuning.. Not claiming I do but I've seen cases where it benefits the vehicle..
Completely different breed, but Fiero owners cut their springs all the time. Sure, there are springs out there for the cars, but to get the best handling you will have to cut the springs.. One guy cut his, added KYB shocks and poly bushings all over, and his car pulls 1.17G on the skidpad now.. Can't argue with that.. If you want to, you can argue with the fact that Carrol Shelby signed the dash of his car and basically told him that the car was awesome.
Obviously, just cutting them for the look isn't the correct way to do it but if it's just temporary, then oh well..
