I'm also glad I have that touch up paint pen. It comes with the paint on one side and clearcoat on the other.
I'm planning to try to touch up the whole car in one shot after every winter. It's going to take a long time b/c I'll claybar, wash, touch up, polish then wax.
Probably a whole days work but worth it if it will save me from a paint job in 3 years.
I think I'll get rockblocker on my hood/bumper this summer. The front gets brutalized by the sandy winter roads.

Call MNAO and let them know, they are usually pretty good @ correcting that.
if you however have cosmic blue (new color, MS3 only) they might not have the paint code and touch up for them... but they would be able to tell you such when you call.

This coming from the man who chooses SwampAss as his handle...get the normal chips! Speaking of chips...only thing worse than paint chips are windshield chips. I have two pinhead size chips right above the light sensor on top of the dash.
The 3M clear bras that I have seen seem to hold up well and not yellow. Its like anything else, poor prep/install leads to problems. If I had it to do over I would have had one installed right after purchase.
Initially, I applied several coats of carnuba wax to the bumper cover, hood, and fenders. My thinking was that with the surface being so smooth, the damage from flying objects would be lessened or minimized. And it did seem to help. But Mazda's paint is definitely spread to thin so to speak in those areas. Your bound to get souvenirs in your painted panels over time.
The orange peel effect can be eliminated by wet sanding the car and then polishing it to a mirror like shine.

Like he said, very well. It's also kind of costly, but so is a new paint job. I don't park my car's near anyone so the only damage I'm going to get is going to be from road debris. The 3m bra will hold up fine and is barely noticeable unless your next to the car and looking for it. The majority of the time people notice the good ones is because the owner used carnuba wax on it and did a crappy job removing it from the edges.

If they are going to do that much work, itd probably just be worth them puting another coat or 2 of base + color and then clearing the car 2+ coats.... which all in all would be a new paint job.
would it help? yeah probably... Is it worth it? I dont think so esp when you factor in the money required to do it.
Lol i was just thinking i should check the forums on paint problems. I just recently backed into a short concrete wall going about 1-2 mph and it put black chips ALL over the back bumper and its nothing deep at all. So yah.. doing a little sanding/touch up work next week when the paint arrives at the dealer.
