mazda speed rx-8

I own a p5 and dont get me wrong I love it. But have you seen the mazdaspeed rx8 it rocks but i heard that it has no increase in hp.

I got the literiture on the rx8 from mazda and in the back, it shows the car. Anyone know when it will be released.

are you talking about the Road and Track guide to the RX-8 that Mazda sent out? Because I think what they were saying in that was that they dont have a release date because the power thing isnt worked out yet. HKS was talking about a turbo 300hp+ prototype. .. .. But Im pretty sure the Mazdaspeed RX-8 is far from being released.

they have had them at indep mazda for 2 weeks, they have a black and a red one. and yes me will beat one with my turbo they are not that fast but keep in mind its a rotary... tweak it a bit and you will run circles around me. they are sweet modded cars but i like my boosted p5 better.

Mazdaspeed RX-8 parts are already available in Japan.

no engine enhancement parts that i know of, mostly body/suspension parts.

yup...wrong forum but ok...so far the mazdaspeed rx-8 is just appearance and a few performance additions (flywheel, lsd, muffler) but no "real" power mods...from what i've heard/read/seen there's no plan to release a lot of factory performance parts in the near future...but there are those who have been blowing smoke saying that a mazdaspeed turbo rx-8 will be released next year...blah blah blah...

I asked one of the mazda reps at the rev it up if they knew anything about a speed rx-8. His basic response was, if they did one, it would not be in the next year or two, since he was expecting them to release a speed miata and speed 6 first. His response on wether a turbo would be coming was even less hopeful, apparently due to the problems with how the rx7 turbos were treated (warm up / cool down) by the consumer, don't want a repeat problem. That may just be his opinion though. I just know, I hope the price comes down a bit to coincide with my (hopeful) insurance drop at 25, maybe trade from a pro5 to rx8.

just want to note that, the 'Mazdaspeed' RX-8 parts are sold as individual aftermarket parts, there are currently no plan for a full production 'mazdaspeed edition' RX-8.

The next Mazdaspeed car will be the Miata, 180hp turbo IIRC.
