What's with the lack of features in Mazda App?

:
2025 CX-5 Turbo Signature
2015 CX-5 GT AWD w/Tech
This August, I went from a 2015 GT, which I owned since 2014, to a 2025 Signature Turbo and liked my old vehicle and love the new one!

However, I have to say the lack of common sense type features in the Mazda remote app is very disappointing, especially from a company I thought was forward thinking. I didn't even know a lot of these features exist until last weekend when I came across them in my friend's cars!
  • No ability to turn on front or rear defrost
  • No ability to turn on seat or steering wheel heat
  • No ability to schedule when it turns on
  • Vehicle turns off when entering it
These are all features that make sense in a cold environment and exist at least in Ford vehicles (really, we can't do better than Ford)?!

Even more appalling will be when the free usage runs out and Mazda expects me to pay for this. Frankly, it is not worth any money the way it is set-up now.

I never used it until this past week when it started getting cold and didn't know what I didn't know until the weekend and saw what other vehicles have for their remote applications.

I just let the free subscription expire on a 2023 CX5. I just couldn't see the value of paying for it. Our 2025 CX70 has a couple extra features including tire pressure monitoring but still not worth it in my opinion.
