Mazda Speed 3 Problems.

Hello i bought a ms3 2008 with 500 miles out of the showroom, looked like a nice good car, but the truth is that it`s been problem after problem. The car is completly stock except is 3`inch from the downpipe to the stock muffler. Im a technician an this is not my first turbo car is my 3rd, so operator error is completly out of the question. The car has never been redline at all besides after 5800 rpm it falls out of boost anyways an i barely race it.

Stock turbo started smoking with 8k miles. The second 3200 after 11200 miles two blown turbos, the downpipe started making noises, they fixed it but is doing it again, the radio was mest up from the first day, it would play vocal but no bass. The center caps on the wheels keep falling off an the rims are in perfect shape 0 scratches, the camber in the back is extremly positive which has wear off my tires, my rear wiper sprayer doesnt work, my headlight get humidity inside but they say is normal, the shifter has been replace twice this would be the third , it bends an it wont go down to reverse it has to be punch down an pulled up. The springs in the driver seat sound like a car from the 80`s an the suspension bushings are starting to make noises. The car has been well mantain , mobil one full synthetic every 3k no exception an is turbo timed every time . Im so dissapointed i cant believe i traded my srt for this bunch of problems.

DOES ANYONE HAD ANY OF THESE OR I JUST PICKED THE BAD APPLE (pissed)

I've got a speed 3 with 75,000 miles on it. been running 32psi since 20,000 miles with the stock internals. race daily. no problems yet...

32psi? Holy crap! How hasn't that thing exploded yet? Your car should give my n/a 3 lessons on how to not crap out and go fast.

I love to go fast and drive the Milwaukee Grand Prix 110 miles a day, so far at 34K I have put new all seasons on and had to replace the ram air to IC 2 due to a little piece of plastic braking but other than that the car has been great. MSCAI, MSCBE

finally got the car back after more than two weeks , everything looks in place is running nice, hope fully il drop the mbc , tt, cai, an finish the exhaust this weekend. looking foward to the dyno lol .

Sounds good, maybe your dealer can fix my car too. I can't seem to find a single dealer that will perform something more than a TSB. (I've been to 3)

I got 35k on my 07 ms3. Ive never had any problems with it. My buddy bought a cx7 off the showroom floor for cheap and its falling apart. His rear axels are going bad for no reason. But mazda is paying for new ones. Give the car back its a lemon!

Just got my car back from Mazda for a fault belt tensioner unit...something about a fault bearing. It was rattling. I have a thread about it with a video. They fixed it and it's fine now. They also fixed my presets for Sirius radio too.

Smoke Issue

Well my car just started to smoke. I have an '08 w/ 45k miles on it. It is basically bone stock besides the MS cold air intake. Apparently this is a major problem and it is all over the internet. According to the TSB report, cars that were produced before July 1, 2008 are having this issue. They are saying that it may be the result of an insufficient crank case ventilation, resulting in oil leakage past the exhaust turbine shaft seal. I'm am going to take my car in to see what they say. Some people have received new turbos and/or new ventilation systems to fix the problem. It should be covered under the power train warranty, which is 5 years or 60K miles, which ever is first, but you never know. Other than this issue, my car runs and works great. Here is the link from the TSB: http://www.accessecu.com/cgi-bin/do...accessport/mazda/AP-MAZ-002/TSB 01-002-11.pdf

Hope this helps.

Way to resurrect an ancient post and a thoroughly covered topic here, and it's your first!
Free pass from me anyway - welcome. NO blood no foul.
just don't make a habit of dumpster diving 2009 anymore if you can help it.

^ Well said, Wurf.

New member might want to consider the search function. It is a bit difficult to use. I'd recommend he use Google search and include in the string of search terms the phrase "mazdas247" (without the quotes). He would have found his issue, everything about the TSB and the more recent warrant extension and all the various discussions about it.

Welcome Fyeyes. Enjoy your MS3. This is a great car, and please use search and try not to revive extremely old (THREE YEAR OLD) threads!

More people complain about the car they own than praise it online.. Trust me for every single person that has a problem with the car they own.
Well probably hundreads if not thousands don't.

Wow! You responded to a dead thread with the last response (me) almost two years ago! And I was ranting about the prior poster responding to an already dead three year old thread.

People here do report their problems. That's one of the main purposes of these groups - to help each other, so sure - that's to be expected, even encouraged. But responding to five year old threads . . . We can do better.

I've got 91k on my 07. I just had smoking turbo on a ski trip, also had lost power. I'm waiting to see what the result is, but I'm guessing not good. :/ Considering cutting my losses and selling the speed3.
