Mazda Dealership Screwing Me Over

The dealership I've been dealing with said they'd sell me the msp I want for $19990 plus the $2000 rebate. What do you all think?

Don't mean to thread jack, sorry to hear you're getting ripped like that :(

I just got an msp in Richmond. Go to Whitten Brothers Mazda on Midlothian and ask for Oscar. He just sold me my laser blue mica msp on Tuesday. He's a really nice guy, plus he gave me a pretty good deal. $17,400-600 or so. They took the pinstripe off for me and were really nice. Definitely give Oscar some business if you can, he's a good guy. Tell 'em Brian with the Blue Mazdaspeed sent you. Apparently the rebate ended Tuesday though, so I don't know if they can still hook it up. Worth checking. The people at Capitol Mazda over off of Broad St. didn't have a good selection, were kinda assholes, and didn't take me seriously even though I told them I was going to buy a car the next day (I'm 16.) They didn't have Laser Blue Mica either, but they do have a Black 2003 if you want that. It's in the show room. Anyway, check out Whitten Brothers on Midlothian and see what they can do. PM me and lemme know how it goes. I've seen one other MSP in richmond, but that was a while ago. Good luck!

I bought mine at Whitten Brothers, they would deal with me, the people at Capitol would not deal with us. That black one has been there for about 5-6 months. Plus the salesman really get on the car if you let them take you for a ride.

I kept the pinstripe on mine, it looks ok to me.

I am another MSP in Richmond. Though there are a few roaming around here! Whitten Bros. is okay, but not really a great dealership. When you start dealing with the service dept. then you will understand!!!
Plus I didn't like the guys there who were selling! They only talked to my husband even though it is my car. I mean really what could a girl know especially one with a baby! Anyways, just wait till you get up with the service dept....
I have only been waiting for 3 months for a new speaker and shift knob.....

You are right their service department is not that great. First, they never really checked the car and forgot to put my wheel locks on, so I had to call them and tell them that they did not put them on. The lady said that the car does not come with wheel locks. I fought with her for 15 minutes then asked to speak to her manager and they said bring it in. I was pissed b/c I live in Charlottesville and it take over an hour to get there.

Read Contract Carefully

Dude, I hope you read the contracts you signed carefully. There could be a fine print that states they can change your rates at any given point in time and you will be stuck with it. If they told you your rate was blah with your money down, but then a few days later tell you yeah we can't give you that rate and it's now 13%, with that contract they'll show you the fine print and you'll be stuck. Read over buying tips and this is a number one scam to get more money off you. I hope this turns out ok for you, dealership that does these kinds of things shouldn't be in business.

If it was an older woman in the service dept. then I know who you are talking about. She wouldn't let me talk to the MSP tech. She just flat out right said no you can't talk to him. Real b****! Had no idea of nothing either! Sounded like her pipes had crusty cob-webs and dust bunnies from Hell!
The younger girl was actually a lot nicer and seemed to know more of what was going on. And the guy, though seemed clueless to, got s*** done so I was happier with that.
Just the old cratchity lady! STEER CLEAR of that one!

yea it was the old woman, shes a b****.

Bypass the b**** and contact the General Manager of the dealership. Without the GM knowing of how she deals with customers, nothing gets fixed.

actually the contract says that if they do change the interest rate the contract is no longer valid.
