what is the safest way to remove the mazda and protege badge on the car i want to paint them and put them back on

thnx chris

heat it up with a blow dryer and then remove the badges by using fishing line and using it as a saw. :)

I thought they were held on by screws. So if you heat them up and remove them there will not be any holes?

There are 2 holes for each of the 3 rear badges/emblems. The Mazdaspeed emblem is the only one that doesn't have little prongs that go through the holes...it's just flat.

I've posted pics before...try searching & you'll find pics of my trunk holes.

Patch hole , paint your trunk and dont put back the badge after...
Cleaner look !!! i will done that one of these days !!!

Hey how much does it usually cost to have a shop fill in the holes and repaint the trunk?

Damn that sucks! I was quoted the same price by a local shop but I figured they were just trying to rip me off but I guess not. Why couldnt mazda just put some double sided tape on our badges like they did with our ground effect kit

I think black would actually look really cool. The only problem about grey would be the conflicting color of the car which is titanium (correct)?; to a flat gray on the emblems

A friend of mine has a titanium and he painted his badges black and I liked how they came out. He also painted the front mazda emblem black and looked really good.
