UPDATE!!!

Ok so i took this afternoon to pinpoint my vacuum problem etc... I found out my throttle body wasnt sealing correctly to the mani, so i got some permatex copper gasket maker and applied it.

Long story short, about 1 hour later, she is purring like a kitten again. I just jumped out of the shower, but i am on my way to test it out give impressions right now..

Stay tuned for more.

ok will someone please answer my question? The 626 mani will bolt on to our cars and in response to the install will increase our hp? how much are we talking about here?

also. dont bash on cullen, he still gives good customer service and offeres the majority of his parts at fair price....

your questions are answered in this thread. reading is fun and mental:D

wise ass.....(boom07) what are the numbers then? Azian6er's numbers will be significantly more than ours due to his setup....so if he dynos it, the numbers will not really apply to us i assume...I am referring to a stock protege

I know that it will bolt on and work and that this whole egr thing will be an issue when installing....but the parts are available from cullen for 70 bucks.....right? Also....what are the advantages/disadvantages of this install.....does this require any type of tunning? I mean there are so many things no one has discussed here. This has to be more than just a simple bolt on....right?

no actual numbers yet except the numbers cullen got listed on his site which is like 14 or 17hp. forget but you can check

uhhh your response is a little late my friend....impatience is not the word, frustrated that no one responded for the third time...maybe if you read my first question about 20-30 post ago (prior to all of the info).....i had a few questions that were not listed in this thread....it required a little more research than reading "the thread", anyway, my post is about 4 up....and it has questions not answered....anyone knowledgable or are you just trying to flame like mr wicked here.....

ok so i just got back from romping on it. Initial impressions seem good. I can notice more smoothness down low, and up top it seems to open up nicely. It is really hard to gauge acurately the gain without a dyno. I plan on doing that soon.

Overall, seems worth it, but make sure you tighten everything up and take your time. I am chasing another vacuum leak i think, sometimes the idle bounces between 1500 and 2100 rpms after driving for a bit. I think this is most likely vacuum related, but dont know for sure.

Anyone have experience with a bouncing idle?

-Cool....congrats
-just an assumption....but does it matter how much air is in the manifold prior to the mixture and compression? i am pretty sure the flow path is the same but do our cars calculate the amount that is taken in?

according to a boost gauge at idle we have about 18 inches of mercury in the manifold
