I would just like to know how many successful 626 IM swaps have been performed and whether or not there has been any gains from it (whats the point in swapping if there is no gains). ********** has posted his gains and I beleive they are legitimate. If we see gains from the stock 626 IM (without butterflies) you may have something, but I am doubting it.

Well...after all, if someone SHOWS actual dynos that proves HP gain, it doesnt matter if its from a 626 or probe or a junkyard transformer, they can charge whatever they want for it because they have to support their business, they do all the work to get it to their customers, its in customer hands what they want to do with their money.

I'll be waiting to see results, if the 626 IM proves to be worthy, then I'll be on car-part finding one ASAP.

I've got one on order... Can't wait. Even if it is the 626 manifold, I don't have time to track down the right one, pull it, clean it up and put it on. I'd rather spend a little more and not have to pull two manifolds.

test fit it on my car tonight. Fit like a ******* glove. Vacuum routing is a pain in the ass, but wasnt too difficult. Car pulls way harder in upper rpms, i hit 1 bar on my low boost setting so much faster than before.

There is however one small issue. When removing my thrttle cable, i accidentally snapped one of the fastener clips from the cable, so my rpms are a tad whacky and tend to rise on their own whenever they want to.

Also i think there is a small vacuum leak somewhere because i hear popping solenoids trying to trap air or something. I am cashed out tonight and my hands hurt, but it was pretty easy none the less.

Once I get the idle adjusted and the throttle cable fixed up, it will be off to the dyno. But from first impressions, the car is way way smoother in lower rpms, almost feels more tourquey, and up top it pulls way way hard.

Kudos the ********** for the R&D on the manifold i guess it is just unfortunate that it turned out to be this one. I would never have known about this unless ********** di the R&D so they do deserve kudos for that.

I will keep everyone posted once i try to tackle the throttle cable issue tomorrow and the idle thing.

200 626 std. emissions

so did you buy one from cullen or just a 2000 626 parting out? I mean....even if this is the case...cant you take the 626 mani for like 100 bucks then have it port/polished?

Hmm..........
this is the first time I have seen this thread, and it's allmost 2 in the mouring,so I only read the first, and last 2 pages.

to clear things up here.......

the manifold the Cullen is offering actually is the 2000 626 manifold offered at the $price$ of a custom manifold?

when this manifold came out,I was informed(by Cullen)that they had a company making them for **********,is this true?or are they actually mazda manifolds?

you know i hate to step in and this has been debated in the past in previous threads. in the end cullen DOES NOT have to give exact detaisl stating the difference. he can if he wants but as a vendor hes DOES NOT HAVE TO seeing as how anyone could copy the deisgn and w/e hes he does to get the power to where it is. i have to blow this up even more and i understandn what you guys are trying to do...but honestly BEFORE this gets out of hand as it has been stated in the past prove in actions not in words. this thread should have been started POST install/dyno. if there is a difference there is one and this should be proven after you do a write on the steps youve done, what youve done, a pre and post dyno run and w/e other details youd like to include. now go on and say i am a cullen follower but i will not sit down and have yet another vendor leave or be pushed around because of people doubting the work at hand. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY OR DONT WANT TO SPEND THE 500 ON HIS INTAKE MANIFOLD DO NOT AND CALL IT A DAY. its not that hard of a concept

/end of my rant good night ladies and gents!

it's called protecting your fellow forum members.
I happen to like dealing with Cullen, and his shop, but if this actually is just a new 2000 626 mani, then it needs to be known.

CULLEN!____________
I think you may need to do some comparison of your mani to the one posted on the first page.
it has no butterlies, and is externaly identical to yours.
you cannot deny the similarity between the two,and judging by your responses posted on the previous pages, you don't know a lot about the mani your offering.
you should be getting on the phone, and contacting you distributer/or manufacturer.

it sounds like you don't really have your facts straight.

Nice job ... --> How to guide for your fellow members? (thumb)

Nice work guys. How did the EGR pipe fit?

Your welcome Tekkie for bringing this to you guys attention, in a round about way.

This won't change much here, they are still staying up for sale. There is a lot of research into them. If any of the members want to cancel the manifold and try to find a junk yard mani, just give me an email.
