Mazda 3 Front Seats In A Mazda5

Has Anyone Tried To Fit Mazda 3 Seats In A Mazda5 Yet?

Would Like To Swap Out The Stock Seats For Some Sparco, Recaro Or Bride Seats, But The Only Brackets I Can Find Are For A Mazda 3.

Might Just Get The Bracket And Test It Out!

i was thinking on speed3 seats in the 5 but seems it won't work, something with the airbags i guess.

Why wouldn't Speed3 seats work in the 5? The two cars are based on the same platform after all. The airbag issue might be something as simple as re-pinning the plug on the bottom of the seat. Anybody know if the MS3 has passenger presence detection on the passenger side like the 5 does?

The rail aren't the same at all... test fitted this already...

There is a thread out there somewhere on this forum about an accessory that Euro dealers have that is basically a rail that bolts in the existing holes and moves the mounting holes for the seat back, so that the seat is further back. This would only be half the issue though. The question is if the width of the mount points on both seats is the same.

Hey Venom, were you attempting to use the rails that are attached to the MS3 seats in the 5? In the photos I looked at on E-bay the seat rails seem to be bolted to the seat frame, rather than welded on as in some others. If that is the case couldn't you attach the rails for the 5 to the seat frame for MS3? I understand that the seat frames may be different widths, but adaptors for that problem could be fabricated out of angle iron if necessary. Also did you look into the issue of the airbag plugs?
