Mazda 2 woes

:
2011 Mazda 2 GS
So I just got back from the dealership, left my car there.

The story is as follows, driving around for a little while from my gf's house to where we normally eat Sushi. I pull into a parking lot in front of my bank, turn the engine off and run inside. About 3/4 minutes later I come back out and try to start the car. Nothing. Car turns over but struggles, sounds like a low end "clunk" after it turns over twice.

Thinking it was the battery I give the Mazda dealership a call (which oddly enough was across the street). They send a service guy out with a booster pack. His thoughts were the same, however with the booster hooked up still nothing. His look confirmed my suspicions that something was afoot.

Skip forward about 30 minutes and roadside assistance came by and dropped me off with my car.

I'll update you guys with any details.

Hope so as well, I cant afford to miss work or school lmao just over 12000 kms, quite odd

That's what happens when you eat raw fish................

J/K. Probably something very minor.

Good luck with it.

Update from the dealer, it's electrical. They haven't been able to pinpoint the problem yet, but atleast they've got an idea. They've contact Mazda tech. support so hopefully it's resolved quickly, otherwise I'm out a car for the weekend.

Certainly does, unfortunately at the time I turned my car in rental Places were closed and I had work all of today. They've arranged a rental for me to pick up tomorrow morning.

My old 2 had a similar problem, it only did it the once (thankfully! :p) and like yourself the breakdown company had to come and have a look and he thought it was something with the battery. However it wasnt and after while he had a twiddle here and there with the spark plugs or something? (I think he replaced some, but im not technical minded with cars so i have no idea) and bang it came back to life!.

Fingers crossed you get your car sorted! :P

I just had a similar experience yesterday.

Started my car in the morning & it was choking & shaking like it wasn't getting enough fuel. Did it for about 15 seconds before smoothing out. Then I shut it down & restarted it twice. It started ok, but it didn't sound normal when you turned the key; had kind of a whining sound to it instead of the instant startup I'm used to.

So anyway it hasn't happened again yet, so hopefully it's ok. I've got 18,000 miles & it's never done anything like that before.

Apparently they got it figured out, I'll be heading over to pick it up right after class. Will let you guys know what their findings are.

Jellybean has been brought back to life. According to the dealership, PCM died, causing the fuel pump & battery to kill themselves as well. So, I guess I got a new battery for a week of inconvenience? lmao.
