Are you in a diesel? Some have had oil issues. Probably should check the oil and consult the dealer.

Have you had the software, pressure sensor & dipstick update done? This may be required if your CX5 is an early model. Dealer should be able to diagnose this easily enough. (I got mine done yesterday).

I you havent, you might probably want to visit the spanish forum:

It is plenty of diesel owners there.

I remember some folks there reporting similar issues, most due to a faulty sensor.

Hope it helps you.

hi Dr. did you get 'c' dipstick in the end?

Yes, software updated and C type in, oil bang on top dot when I checked later. Service included the usual stuff, a few seals changed here and there, something on the door seals was fixed, brakes had more bite after service too, forgot to top up wiper fluid so that was 5 quid down the drain. Total was 380 equivalent. Still cheaper than my wife's mazda 2 from our local stealership which I will never go back to! They even gave me a full service report on paper, software version. Details etc, the local garage said I had to contact mazda ch for that, they would only give me the digital record print out which has no details what so ever.

It was 20 mins down the autobahn to the garage, my wife was following me, I noticed straight away that a regen was running, 60 mph on a flat road, consumption was about 28mpg for ten mins or so, then back to normal after that. Got out my car at the garage and wife asked what he heck is wrong with the car! She said was loads of white smoke out the back and inside her car it was stinking for ten minutes from the fumes! Not sure if that's normal, probably.
