Hello Hello

I'll be coming down to Old Orchard Beach / Ocean Park from August 2nd until either the 16th or the 21st.

Are there any club members in that area or close to that area ? Be great to meet up with you guys :)

i am kinda close... we could meet up and do some indoor karting http://www.maineindoorkarting.com/ or hang at the beach as oob is nice but usually PACKED!! i live inland by sebago and long lake (another big touristy area) where are you staying down there? if you like baseball we could always try to hit up a sea dogs game or something... let me know i usually have weekends off and get out of work around 3pm during the week. you golf?

I'm staying right in Old Orchard. I've been going there since I was born this is just the first time I'll be taking my car down.

lol the beach isn't THAT bad.

definitely be interested in getting together with some mazda people :)

maybe we could get some of the new hampshire people to come up to scarborough for some karting? its not that far of a drive as its right off of 95.

Haha.. I used to work at Maine Indoor Karting. Fun place to visit. Fun place to work at too.. but I ended up moving to Southern NH and it was too hard to commute back and forth to work there (part time). I was putting in a full 8 hour day in Portsmouth, NH, commuting to Scarborough and punching right in, and working till either 10pm or midnight, depending on the day. Made for a long ass day with all the traveling.
After saying all that, I might be game for meeting up. I'll try and stay updated here and see what you guys come up with. A Seadogs game would be pretty cool! I've been to a few of those in my day!

how long ago did you work at indoor karting? i had a friend that worked there as well. big raiders fan kind of high energy guy if you worked with him you would understand.

as far as what to do lets see what the interest is from you new hampshire guys as you guys have a pretty active crew and i am pretty much it from maine... sad uh?

I think I've been to 1 seadogs game in my lifetime - wouldn't hurt to go to another one - as long as it's an evening game. I'm not about to sacrifice 8 hours on the beach to watch baseball :P

Don't forget about me! I'm from Wells, ME... (sad2)

If you guys want to get together up in OOB or somewhere else in southern Maine, I am definitely game for that! keep me posted.

I'd be up for Maine trips if they still sold 93 freakin' octane. Who in the Maine government decided 91 was best?

Probably someone who drives a Prius....I swear...I see those things everywhere these days. They make me angry (flame)

OH MAN!! That is funny! I worked with Greg! He was a blast to work with! He was definitely by far my favorite person to work with.

soooooooo... should i post a pole of what to do then? seems like sea dogs game or indoor karting are options.. we could also hang at the beach (OOB) but as i said before its always packed there and it will be a pain in the ass to find anywhere to get our cars together for a few photos.. trying to think of what else to do in the area. we could do indoor karting and then hit up the sea dogs its probably 20 minutes from the karting place. just an fyi karting is 22$ now and a sea dogs game is 7-9$ for tickets then food/beer isn't to bad. trying to figure out any other options any ideas protege2886?

GF just chimed in with a BBQ at one of the many seacost parks?? thats always an option (i am a grilling fool btw!)

BBQ FTW!
He kids new to the ranks...going to pick my MS3 this Saturday in NJ (so much cheaper to buy there than here in Manch, NH)
Anyway looking forward to meeting some fellow mazda owners!

Post a poll. That will force me to make a decision. Otherwise, I am completely torn between karting, sea dogs, and the BBQ idea.

alright will post a pole later this afternoon. we could always do a combo of things as well bbq with karting or sea dogs game after bbq'in at the beach in the afternoon or some other way...

Definitely like that idea !

BBQ and photoshoot somewhere scenic (cool)

I'm leaving for Montreal on friday night and then driving down saturday morning so after friday I won't have access to the internet.

I'll have my GO phone on me while I'm in the states - pretty sure the number is 1-207-710-1649

tsunami - I'll PM you before friday with my canadian cell number as a back up - that cool ?

In the mean time - Where are some cool photoshoot locations in maine ..that aren't like 15$ worth of toll booths away :P

lol what do you care its practicly a 1 to 1 ratio looney to dollah now a days... yeah man send me a pm for sure with your contact info we can organize something. as far as photoshot spots we could do a bbq at some beach or on one of the promenades in portland (no tolls from oob if you come up rt 1 instead of 95) and then head downtown to the sea dogs game or a night of debauchery (if we are all 21) in the oldport.

as far as where to take some nice photos... if you are along the coast kennebunk port (not this weekend the president is here) and wells have some nice cliffs and stuff as well as ogunquit. if you want to go inland you have to drive pretty far but its pretty nice lovell maine was recognized by national geographic as having one of the 10 most beautiful places on the planet (a lake surrounded by mtns absolutly gorgous!) rangely has some nice mtn views over lakes as well. if you want to go back up the coast rockland and camden are nice real working harbors island views and you could always head to cadillac mtn at acadia national park its the highest point on the coast supposed to be fantastic ( i have yet to go)
