Magnaflow question for the 3

I just got a quote off the internet for the magnaflow catback system for the mazda 3 for $379 shipped!! (rockon)

I'd personally get this one from Corksport. It's $389 but you're gonna get the best gains. Of course if you live somewhere that has emisions standards you may not be able to run this exhaust. I do not have that problem.

Probably like 5hp at higher rpms, if even that. You will lose some low-end torque, but will gain a little at the top.

I think Magnaflow has the same figures on their website, not sure.

Oh, and your gas mileage will increase, but not by much. I gained 1-2 mpg with an axle-back.

Ah, my bad. So the race series has a larger inner core? How does it sound?

honestly, i liked the street series better for my eclipse. this tends to drone at low idle. it sounds nice when wot. but sometimes just cruising can be a little loud in cabin. my fiance liked it at first, but then gets on her nerves now. i can live with it though, i just turn the music up!

That's cool. I've got the mazdaspeed axle-back and it is pretty loud--anywhere past 3000 rpm, so it's a little annoying then but overall it made me a better driver. I can now take off with minimal clutch slippage. With louder exhaust you can hear what the engine is doing (evil)

That looks like the tip sits quite a ways back underneath the bumper. I dunno maybe it's just the angle of the shot???

I'd say it sits furter back because they didn't take in to consideration that the sedan and wagon are two different lengths.

I have a universal canister tip on mine with 2.25" piping from the cat and removed my resonator. I love it.

5 X 7 Magnaflow universal

I cut out the stock muffler and rear cat (#2) and had a Magnaflow 5 X 7 universal muffler installed with a nice tip. Looks and sounds GREAT!
