This wouldn't be Wayne Mazda would it? I called them once for a quote and those guys won't stop harassing me to buy a car. Can't beat their pricing though, but I live 2 1/2 hours away in South Jersey and still have to pay 7% sales tax, so the $500 or so cheaper they were over the dealer I bought from wasn't motivation for me to drive up there, pay gas/tolls there and back and waste a day buying a car. The dealer I bought from gave me free oil changes for as long as I own it also, so whether I use it or not, I figured that was worth something.

It was Wayne alright...
Its funny that you say they wouldn't stop calling you...the wouldn't call me period! hahaha I had to call them every time...
weird

free oil changes definately has a lot of value...I know a lot of the people in here like doing their own but its always nice to have the option of not getting dirty and free to boot!

I will be heading down in the A3 with wifey and my friend to pick-up the car.
Who do you think will make it back home first? (rlaugh)

I'm located in VA and trying to get out of my fricking GTI and into a MS3 GT.

Just got off the phone 10 minutes ago and he gave me a price of $23,430 on a 08.5 White Crystal Pearl GT w/36 miles. Pretty sure that is excluding taxes as I forgot to mention it so he more than likely left them out.

Now, what are some decent tactics I can use to get them to a sub-$24k number INCLUDING taxes???

Thanks

Pretty simple. Call all dealers within driving distance. Ask them for the same exact thing (being flexible on color is an advantage). Ask for car price and OTD so you can compare. Talk to either the sales manager or internet/phone sales. Make it short. At the end of the day, call the dealer with best price, and ask for a lower one (-200 or so) and tell them you are willing to put a deposit on the car and buy it right away if they meet your price. If they do not, just wait a week or so and try again.

You should have a good idea of what a reasonable price would be by reading this forum.

If you do not like phone calls send a fax or an email then follow up with a call. A call just means you are more serious than all the others.

This works every time for me.

Got my '08 Black Mica 3 weeks ago for $22,900 OTD. I just wish the deal for my Scion tC didn't fall through, I had to trade it in for $14,000 when they probably sold it for $15,900. So in the end... the dealer still won. :(

dang man. you got a really good deal.

i bought my speed 3 in march of '07 for 22,300 + tax.

i owed 14,400 on my '06 scion tC and they gave me 13,800. $800 down and the rest is history.

not a bad deal but s***, a thousand cheaper would've been pretty cool.

I bought the car about a month or so after it hit the dealers. It was a brand new GT with navigation tech. and Bose package. I got everything you could possibly get with the car except for the Sirius and the cargo net.Out the door registration tax everything was $25050

that's rediculous man.

Got my '09 GT for $23,250 today (stock + wheel lock). Just under $26k OTD (got the dealer installed security system for $400). Los Angeles.

So, should one shoot for $500 below invoice?

Also, being that 2009's are out, shouldn't a 2008 sell for well below invoice being it is already 1 year old?
