Lowest "Out the Door" price

huh? you cant figure out taxes? let's take your 25k. what are your fees? your local taxes? do you even know how much you paid over invoice? i think; you do all your research on the internet, figure out how much invoice is to the best of your knowledge and then go argue a buy price. then once they nail that down, you are done. the fees and taxes are going to be what they are going to be, you are not going to argue with uncle sam. look at the contract, check the numbers..pay...drive away.

my example. i knew what invoice was. they came back at exactly $200 over invoice. i said "i'll take it!" in my case $21200. no damn way i could go and say..i wont pay over....(guess) 23500 OTD. OTD is a mystery just because we dont know the exact fees. way to difficult for me to have all the info for a fair fight..

I guess you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Yes they are going to be what they are, but you can let them firgure them out once you come up with a price OUT THE DOOR. Ill put it to you this way, I bought one of the first speeds to hit the streets in miami. MSRP was like 23.5 or somthing or rather. I said plain and simple I will take the car for 25 OTD or no deal. Whether or not taxes and tags and all that s*** inlcuded was more or less they can figure it out on there own. I could care less if they make 200 or less. That was my deal and they took it. No s*** your taxes are what they are.

If you have a trade you also need to take that into account. Example if the dealer is making enough on the trade they can show you a purchase price of just about anything. They are just making it up on the other end.

So check this out ...

Hassled one dealership near my house for about two weeks to around 22,169. I got them to print out a Buyer's Form. Then took the Buyer's Form to my dealership (The dealer where I purchased my Mazda 3) and told them to beat the price. They gave me a higher trade-in value for my Mazda 3 and waived the freight.

When I bought my previous car (from the dealership, my Mazda 3) I was given a 2 year maintenance plan which included a 300 rebate on purchasing a new car. Well what do you know ... a few days before I was about to head to my dealer and purchase my Speed I received another rebate in the mail, for 1000 $

Needles to say as I was filling out the paperwork for my CWP MS3 I slapped down both rebates lol .... You should have seen their faces LMAO.

I was told Mazda randomly mails out rebates, like the one I got, to a few people each year? So I guess I was lucky :D

Their was a minimum balance to finance, 7,500 $. I ended up keeping some of the cash for my trade-in. (Samsung LNA650 Series 6 TV Ftw (headbang) )

22,169
14,600 - Trade In Value
599? - Freight
300 - Rebate
1000 - Rebate

Not sure how much T&T were but I know I walked out there with a great deal :D

i'd love to see this on paper :P because if this actually did go through then damn. I never knew mazda sent out $1,000 $300 rebates that are useable on ALL mazda cars.. seems a bit crazy that they didnt restrict it on the speed models seeing as how they usually sell for good prices either way.

well folks i said "go pound sand" to the local dealers and went with some NJ volume dealer...
i got the deal i wanted which was 23.5 OTD on a metro sexual gray GT
puting a deposit down tomorrow and will pick it up in a week or two when I am down that way on business!

I will def enjoy the ride home to NH

No one ever believes me lol.

If you ever got a 2yr maintenance plan (which I also got for free on my Speed 3) from your dealer you would know. (Not sure if its just my dealer) and as for the rebates, I received three of them. 1000 $ off ANY mazda and something about loaner car and another rebate on leasing a vehicle.

Was this a Grand Touring?!?

No its a sport

Ooo I see I made some mistakes, I was looking at the paper work and the dealer rebate is for 350, the Mazda rebate is for 500, and my trade in is for 15,200.

The other rebates (These are 1,000) were for purchasing or leasing one of the following : Cx-7 Cx-9 or Rx-8.

The price I got it for is 22,401.

I'll scan the coupons on my other CPU. :D PM sent Daniel

the dealer showed me their invoice and said thats the lowest they'll go...so i ended up paying that, $21,850, before tax+misc for an 08 sport.

The dealer will still get money from Mazda if sold at below invoice. I got mine for $500 below invoice. Your price is still a very good deal and better than most have gotten.

$500 below invoice? amazing.
did the car have high mileage?
did they get you with ridiculous fees, like $800 doc fee, or $900 fabric protectant?

They get 2% of MSRP back from Mazda and any other hidden bonuses or incentives the manufacturer gives dealers for moving cars, which we'll never see.

the system is pretty much set up to screw you. by how much depends on your energy level. if you get a good invoice price, they will slam you on the trade in or vice versa. if you do good on both, they will slam you on financing. if you do good on everything, they will come over and steal one of your children!!

No and No.

I did buy from a high volume dealer and only negotiated online and over the phone. Never went to any dealership until the deal was made. I had to drive 6 hours round trip to pick it up.

be sure to get a letter signed by the sales manager faxed to you, stating the price and car model. i once drove a long distance to pick up a car, and once i got there, they tried to increase the price. luckily, i brought the fax with the sales manager's signature, so i got the agreed upon price.
