I have a mazda3 and I'm in the process of buying lowering springs. tein's more than likely... 2" drop in the front 1.5" rear. and was wondering how well my stock struts will hold to lowering springs. i've heard about stock struts blowing out when lowered sometimes. will this be a problem or am i good?

They will def. wear prematurely. Your better off replacing them with performance ones while your in there to save you on labor costs.

not off the top of my head, there is a "how-to" somewhere on here thats very helpful.

i put the tein s-tech springs on my 3 about a year ago wit5h stock struts/shocks and now starting to wear out a little, fixin to start looking for some new performance one's don't know what brand yet so any suggestions would be helpful, had to change wheels my 18x8 where to wide for the drop now i have some mazda 6 wheels on...

i had the nitto neogen 225/45/18, but the wheels were 8" wide, the reaer would've probably been ok with a shorter tire but i think the front would've rubbed even with a shorter tire cuz of the width....

I'm getting ready to drop my 5-door on Eibach Pro-Kit springs and am trying to improve my knowledge on lowering vehicles before doing so.

I have a few questions:

1. What causes the stock struts to wear prematurely?

2. If I use stock struts, how fast can I expect them to wear out?

3. What is it that makes the performance struts work fine with OR without lowering the vehicle?

If anyone has an answer to any or all of these questions, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
