hey everyone.........
it was the first time i had to drive in heavy rain yesterday and i couldn't see out of my sideview mirrors because the water wasn't dripping/beading off!

is there anything i can use to help improve the visibilty??? i looked up rain-x which helps with glass but it didn't say anything about mirrors....... one thing i sure miss from my old car is the heated mirrors.........sigh

RainX works on all glass surfaces even side mirrors, so ^^ is right.

Gotta to love that stuff

I didnt use it on my headlights because it said that it some plastics get damaged by it and since our headlights are plastic :( ....so,is it safe?

yeah, don't use on any plastic..could be bad.
it works great on the windows

About a month here as well. Just apply after every car wash.

Rain-X also makes Rain-X fog, which goes on the inside of the windshield and prevents condensation. You can put your hot ass breath up against the window all you want, and no fog. Comes in a black bottle.

Someone advised me against using RainX Fog but for the life of me I can't remember why. Anybody experienced any problems with the anti-fog stuff?

I currently wax my windows and it only last through 1 storm. I think the wiper blades scrape it off or something.

It works great for me. You should NOT EVER NEVER use Rain-x the normal product on the inside of your windshield. It will render your defog next to useless, I dont know why.

Rain-X fog is GREAT for side windshields that have no defog capability. And you can even put it on your rear windshield and avoid using your rear defog.

I use WAX on the mirrors, side and rear windows and on the lights it last longer than rainX and remember DON'T PUT WAX on you WINDSHIELD it's WORST !!!!

I use rainX on the outside of my windows and moonroof. I've used neverfog on my interior windows (I'd rather use watered-down laundry detergent). I've used rainX & neverfog with so-so results on the sideview mirrors. I sparingly use wax on the head and taillights. Now if I could get my hands on some cosmolene, then the whole car would look straight out the factory...

I use rain X on my windshields. For my 4X4 Dodge it helps with getting off the mud.
I have used the rain X anit fog on the inside of my motorcycle helmets and it works. And that is a plastic full face shield.

I had an old Jeep that didn't have a heater or defroster so I used the anti fog on a regular basis all winter.

Over all Rain X is good but it doesn't really last all that long.
As for our headlights, I haven't put rain X on them.

I just use a liquid wax when I wax the front of the car.

Strange.. when I wax my car I do all the windows and I've never had any kind of problem. I use Mother's California Gold Carnuba Wax (liquid version, red squeeze bottle).

I bought a spray bottle of Rain-X figuring I'd just carry that in my car. Nope, not me... I carry the bottle of wax and applicator pads too! Just in case... :p

One coat is enough, as the Rain-X product is designed to adhere to glass... not to other layers of Rain-X. I'd say anything more than one coat per wash/wax is overkill.
