To all my fellow p5'rs ,Have you had to replace your front and or rear pads and rotors and if so did you go through the stealership or did you get it done elswhere??
Getting your brakes done elsewhere/doing them yourselves doesn't void the warranty or does it...............(uhm) .My dealer says that it would cost around 800$ cdn to get the new pads+rotors front and rear(jerkit) .Frankly I think it would be cheaper and better with aftermarket.Would appreciate any input from both sides of the border.

P.s I have 50000 kms on my 2002

it would only void the warranty if you messed it up.

going to do it myself. If you know how then why not. Also no need to goto the
dealership. Call around and price it if you don't want todo it.

Did it myself. . . just did pads, ~$60 US. I also flushed the brake fluid, $5 US.Do you need new rotors? You ought to be able to get away with just getting them turned or just cleaning them with a scotch pad. If I were to change rotors, then I'd definitely upgrade.

If you have it done, labor should cost less than $150. . . and that's on the high side.

changing brake pad and brake rotor for our car is not too difficult. I use AXXIS for my front pad, cost around $50 and works really great. Flush my brake fluid and using Super Blue. For the rotor, upgrade front and rear rotor into Rotora slotted rotor.

All of them just cost around $410 without changing rear pad. The braking feels much better compare to OEM rotor and pad. If you don't feel comfortable doing by yourself, you can ask some shop to do it. It will cost less than $150. Don't go to dealer, they are ripped off
