Loud Exhaust

I got an orange msp about a month ago and i love it to death. There is only one thing i don't like, that is that the exhaust is to quite. Does any one know if its a silencer that can be removed or any other reason for such a quite exhaust. Some times i dont even know if the car is on or not. Is a new exhaust the answer? If so what kind?

I totally agree that the MSP is too quiet, anyone who has done some exhaust on this thing put out some info .I also agree with you murdock ,no rice cans but god this car needs to have a nice deep throaty sound!;)

should of bought a tight compression 71 vette with a big block 454 and side pipes if you want loud. remember Jr, this is a 4 door grocery getter with a couple performance goodies. not some ****** little sh*tbox civic with a raspy rice exhaust that sounds like it has holes drilled in the muffler for a nice tinty metalic twang sound to it.

If its anything like the regular protege. You can just take off the muffler and itll have a really nice sound. But that will look ghetto.. hahahha

I have a custom JIC exhaust. It added nice sound, no rice sound, no horrible rasp, and to top that off it looks damn good. Notice an good increase in performance. The car seems to take to mods very well, the only thing that was bad at first was BOV, as it had a rough idle and stalled a little. But after changing the plastic to alum pipes and re-installed the BOV it was fine. Not sure if any of that helps but there you go.

My god man, Twizted. Dont you ever have anything nice to say ?

please tell me you're ******* joking. lol

You have to remember that this isn't a naturally aspirated car. When you put on a turbo it has a muffling effect. Hence the reason why the new SRT-4 doesn't even have a muffler. If you go onto flyin' miata you can see that there are systems for NA and Turbo, the difference being the extent to which the exhaust gases are muffled

what attitude? i'd say the same thing to him if he asked me in public or something. and i'll get right on that after i put some nasty sounding exhaust on my car. thanks for the heads up.

Let me shed some light for you exhaust virgins, First take off the muffler section and see if it's the performance you want and the sound that you want. For the people who want the most bang for your buck take the cat back section off (I did today to experiment, and it's f-ing loud and mean) you won't regret it. plus you keep the miles down on the stock s***. If you wan't real performance for $0.00 just hollow out the secondary cat. (will pass emissions via OBD2 and no check engine light won't come on cause cat efficency is not monitored on the rear cat. HAPPY RACING for

$0.00

Twisted was an a-hole to me too you piss me off dude what the hell is your problem if anyone just asks a question they need help on you flip. Settle down man

RX-KEVIN I just posted about my BOV you think you can answer my question in that post? Im wondering if my BOV will work on the stock piping, if not on the stock boost what about on the higher boost, its so weird that people are having problems it just seems that a BOV should work. Thanks

Jecky

Oh dear sweet Jecky Ju Ju...
You always know just what to say....(laugh)

if you want a louder exhaust, and want to keep a small diameter tip the JIC Sus 505 is a good system for you.

the tip is only about 3 inches "pretty small in the world of exhaust" but its 2.5" piping from the 2nd cat back.

now if somebody near me or near the shop that has a mazdaspeed wants to do some testing to see if the JIC will bolt up to the mazdaspeed please PM me or ARD_MP5
