Oh guess what? we got GATORS TOO!! yep...beleive it or not...here in texas on the gulf coast we have gators....you don't see them much ...but now and then....the big ones don't get out on the roads...but now and then a 6 footer will......we had one in our parking lot not to long ago at work...that was fun....and what was really funny was it crawled up under a guys truck that was parked in a HANDICAPED parking spot....ROTFL....the big joke was that the gator was probably thinking he was going to get one of the SLOW ones! lol :{D

Have you gone to any of the body shops in town yet too see what the repair would cost?
I'm assuming this happened at the Avalon Mall right? Do what us paranoid people do. Park in the new parking lot for the movie theater in the mall. No carts over there.

the guy just left...did a great job...as i expected...you can't even tell it was ever broke...as requested....the shop installed OEM glass. they used their magic spray and lifted the registration and inspection stickers and transfered them too.....
AND he told me that when they found out at the shop it was a P-5 all the tech's wanted to do the job...cause they hadn't had the chance to see one up close...so they drew straws to see who got come out.... :{D he was really impressed with the car. made me feel good.

I heard from a friend's dad that once you have your windsheild replaced it is never the same again. It is like it isn't as strong as the stock one or something. He told us many stories about his new windsheild that were damaged. Anyways, good luck man, watch out for those buggas (all animals) now.
Wrong. If your windshield is installed correctly (by professionals) it is as good (if not better) than the original.
The same is true of auto body work...do a bad job and the car will never be the same, but if the job is done by pros it will be fine. Today's frame machines and the use of computers in the body shop have made repairs that were guesswork and tape measures 20 years ago, an exact science. Same holds true of paint matching.

IF you go the CHEEP route and get an aftermarket windshield, many times the glass isn't as thick...or curved EXACTLY right...sure it meets the DOT standards...and certian specs....HOWEVER....OEM glass is EXACTLY what orginally came in your car.
THAT is the key...if you EVER have a windshield replaced...ensure that you get an OEM windshield....I delt with the best glass shop in our town...and they are VERY reputable...in fact they give you a lifetime warrantee on the windshield....pretty good deal if you ask me......and when I called them up....one of the first things they ask was whether or not I wanted an OEM windshield or an aftermarket one....the decision was an easy one.....espeically since the insurance was paying for most of it anyway!! lol and it didn't make any difference as to how much was coming out of MY pocket...
the installer was telling me that ALL your OEM windshields come with the rear view mirror show PRE-INSTALLED....and that many of the aftermarket ones don't and you have to bust it off the old windshield and clean it up and reglue it on....if you have ever done this...and I have...you will know that they NEVER stay up there permanently.....you will certainly either vibrate it off with the tunes....OR have it drop off after hitting a good bump going down the road.

That would totally suck... I mean this is the first time that I heard of a buzzard taking out a windshield... does that happen often down there? There is a lot of deep up here in good ole Michigan. My parents seem to hit about 4 a year, so i know the dammage that a larger animal can do. Everything happens for a reason I've heard someone say before, so there's a reason why this thing hit you when it did, you may have missed it, and been in a different accident, and this may have prevented it... think about that... Anyways, either way it still sucks. I feel your frusteration
