yes, it's a ford car, but NO, it's NOT ford built! 
when i was shopping for my car, i had a lot of reason to go with a ford-owned car (friends and family discount), and although i thought really hard about a mustang GT, i did a double take when i checked out the engine on a brand new GT on the lot which was rusted out on all the exposed metal parts. but it's ok, you see, cause that's perfectly normal, according to the salesman!
yes, i know that the rust doesn't mean my machine is gonna fall apart on me, but i honestly believe it's embarrassing for a company to turn out a car in this day and age that rusts on the sales lot. no WAY i'm going to pay good money for that...
