I knew that Pat had 460 cc injectors, but I do not have a map for those injectors. So I loaded the 440s so he would be close and directed Pat over the phone how to get close to a good map. He did get close, but unless you are an experienced tunerit is very hard to get it really good. All maps are affected by larger injectors. All other maps, like cold start, priming maps, air temp correction, battery voltage correction, throttle pump maps, and a few other maps have to be adjusted according to the iinjectors you have. All these maps work on percentage, so it is not the same 30% in a 280 cc injector than in a 460cc injector.
So the answer is that every time you change injectors you need to re map the whole system, not just the fuel maps. By my experience the Haltechs work really good when properly tuned and that goes for all stand alones.
I have tuned cars that are street driven and make over 600WHP (4 cylinder and 1.8 to 2.0 L) running on 750cc injectors working very close to perfect.
They idle smooth, start right away, and drive fine under normal conditions.
