Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

The CPe downpipe is ~$600 shipped. I can't justify that.

Quit yer whining like a b****, I can get you a damn discount, my funky baby brotha! Now be the OG that you are and don't play me cheap, home slice!

Divorced downpipes, internal wastegates, and higher boost pressures can lead to boost creep. Just a thought.

FMIC sounds like overkill. Do you notice the heat soak with decreased power or something? Or just see increased temps with your fancy dash thingy?

Just my unsolicited $0.02. :)

Interesting. I thought a divorced downpipe would be better... Hmm, more research to be had.

I notice/see both. The intercooler is really hot to the touch after one run. Might be overkill but for $300 for a FMIC I'm sure I can sell the CPe topmount for near that and have lower boost temps.

I'd say go with the FMIC for $300, especially if you can sell your CPE TMIC for near that. I definitely see a HUGE difference with FMIC compared to a TMIC. Granted I came from the stock TMIC. I don't think I notice any heat soak now, especially not on track or autocrossing. Plus, the car looks sweet with the FMIC haha. Not sure if my car makes anymore power with the FMIC, but it definitely sets you up if you decide you want more power in the future. Seeing as how you're talking about downpipes, it looks like you want more power lol.

Honestly, I just figure I'll get the FMIC and downpipe installed while I have the car torn apart, then run an OTS stage 2 tune while breaking in the new motor and clutch. Then get a good tune from Smokey's in Canton and be set. Of course, I might need to tweak the tune a little when summer comes around again. But I can't think of any other parts I want/need. This will have the car setup pretty well and I'm happy with the power it has now. I'm just looking for top efficiency with the little K04. I'll let Jake and Patrick build the high HP cars. ;)

Maybe aim for the stock block lowest HP record to claim the SLOW MS6 achievement? HAHA

lol! I was trying to think of a new plate. The car isn't that slow, it's the driver behind the wheel. haha

Good one, Phen. haha

Sho, they said $500 for everything. I would feel better just dropping off my car, having them dyno tune it then picking it up and having it ready to go. Other than an online tuner for half the price but doing the 4th gear WOT logs and going back and forth via email and maps. I'm not too hip to technology or tuning so I'd rather just have it done right by a professional.
