Lease Rates

Hello all!
I'm looking at buying a Mazda3 hatchback. I was wondering what everyone is paying for their lease or buy monthly rates. I just got a quote from a dealer and it was over $400 a month for a $20,000 car! This is one huge drawback, but I don't want it to get in the way. Please help me out and let me know what you guys are paying. Thanks!

I'm paying 425 a month for 60 months. My car cost about 19000. Out the door it was 17000 after 500 rebate and 1500 down. Those are just estimates. I don't have the exact numbers....

(edit) My bad. I meant to write 340 a month. I was mixing up my Mazda6 payment.

After my trade and down payment I pay $241.57 for 60 months.

You guys are leasing? I went to lease the car. 2200 down they wanted 379 a month. I decided to purchase the car, and I'm paying 325.

The APR rate on lease is alot higher than the purchase APR. Also, since the car may not hold up that well after 60 months, they want to make sure they make their money.

8k down plus 500 rebate, 15.9 APR 60 months (first time buyer), 388 per month. Amount financed was about $15k on a buy.

OMG... are ya'll kidding!? i thought i was paying alot... i got my car at $16250, then i traded in my 2002 progete5 and which was worth 9000, but i owed 11600, so that put on another 2600$ so i'm up to about a little over 19000 with tax and all that sh*t, and i'm doing the 72 months payments are 365$ APR about 4-5% (FIRST TIME BUYER, last car was co-signed with parents, this time, by myself!) but if u get the 72 months.. yea, it'l lbe longer, but s***, ust make higher payments then u have to, and u're not gonna keep the car forever... (like my proetege 5) u'll want another one in a few years.

You can get BMW or MB for that much...

Go to Edmunds.com. They have a pretty good payment calculator that can figure in the APR and just about anything else.

My payment is $404 over 48 months. I purchased instead of leased. If you're leasing your payment should be significantly less. I did not do a trade or put anything down and financed the full purchase price of $18.2k (Mz3s 5dr, sab/abs, moonroof 6cd, atx). My interest rate is 2.9%. Oh, and this is through a bank not through the dealer since the dealer wanted to finance me at a higher rate. I don't care if you have good credit, bad credit or no credit history shop around for financing. I recommend doing so before working the price of the car down with the dealer(s). The dealers won't necessarily get you the best rates though they say they well. Also, be careful with incentive financing you see advertised because sometimes they assess a 'rate buydown fee' for those super low rates.

I didn't know anyone with good enough credit to co-sign. Its only for a year anyways, then I'll refinance I'm not dumb enough to keep the 15.9 financing. Gotta build up good credit somehow. Oh yeah, my car was 150 under invoice and costed 22,100.
