How?

Is this stupid thing embedded onto some computer board or is it somewhere where I can cut the wire to it?

Anybody know?

Easy. Start your car,
before you put it in drive, reach over your shoulder and find the strap. Click it in place and you can now put your car in drive.

Told you it was easy, lol.

1)...wear your damn seatbelt. you want the paramedics to wonder how crazy you were when they pull your mangled body from the wreckage and find that your seatbelt was on. be a part of the small statistic of people who die with the belt on.

or

2)...junkyard, cut the belt, take the fastner, click into your car. done.

I'm in a MS6 and would like to know. I wear my belt 100% of the time but occasionally slip it off in the neighborhood or pulling into my driveway.

Teacher, I have a question, what if my car doesn't have "Drive"? It just says 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and R. Which gear do I have to put it in after I click my seatbelt in place?

I wear my belt while driving; HOWEVER, there are times where you need to remove it, like parallel parking in a tight spot. or I might just be moving up to the front of the grocery store to load the car. it'd be nice if I didn't have my built in mazda nanny telling me to put my seatbelt on!
or it could be a more gentle 'beep'. the tone and frequency of it is really irritating.

If it's any consolation, it doesn't beep unless the Mazda5 is being driven faster than 11 mph so parallel parking or driveway maneuvers wouldn't cause it to beep.

And if it does beep, it'll stop after a minute or so.

Y'all need to see my mad tight parallel parking skills yo. No need to remove the seatbelt.

it seems to come on earlier than 11mph, but maybe so.
and I haven't been able to stand it long enough to see if it goes off after a minute. seems like it goes on forever.

If it manages to annoy you, then it has served its purpose. I hated the sound too. Then lately I rarely hear the dinger in my mazda5. Parallel parking or driving short distance to load grocery, my seatbelt is now always on. Maybe I have lost my freedom and didn't realize it.

I've had to do it when I was wearing a neck brace so I imagine that anyone with somewhat limited neck/upper body mobility would have to do the same.

Geez...funny how you guys argue and get all ******* preachy about seatbelt use.

My concern is not the sealbelt minder but rather, the dinger when I have the key in the ignition and turned to accessory position to listen to the radio with the door open.

And regardless WHY I want it off, I just want to know if anybody knows where the actual sound-maker is.

Hello,

See dinger location below:

and here's for the key minder.

You can try turning the key to the 'on' position.

Thanks Skyhawk! That's what I kinda figured.

Didn't want to turn it to "ON" as the battery discharges fairly quickly that way.
