Hey all,
I lost one of my keyless entry remotes, and I found a great deal on a replacement on E-bay. It is exactly the same as the one from the stealership, but they want 42.50 to program it. Yeah, sure... I'll think about that...

okay, no. Anyway, does anybody have instructions or could gimme a "how-to" on programing one of these keyless entry remotes. Thanks a lot!

Pepi

very easy...

turn ignition 3 times
then press "rubber button" switch inside door jam.
then press all buttons in remote.

Taken from HERE

. Make sure there are no keys in the ignition and that all doors are closed
2. Open driver's side door
3. Insert key into ignition switch and cycle the key between the ON and LOCK positions 3 times
4. Remove key from ignition switch
5. Push the driver's side door sensor switch 3 times
6. Verify that the doors lock and then unlock.
If nothing happens, wait 40 seconds and start from step 3 again
7. Press any button on any transmitter twice
8. Verify that the doors lock and then unlock
If nothing happens, see note A
9. If you have only 1 remote, press any button on that remote twice.
If you have 2 or 3 remotes, press any button on any of the other remotes twice.
10. Verify that the doors lock and then unlock
If nothing happens, see note A
11. If you have 1 or 2 remotes, press any button on either remote twice.
If you have 3 remotes, press any button on the 3rd remote twice.
12. Verify that the doors lock and then unlock
If nothing happens, see note A
13. The codes should now be reprogrammed

Note A:
1. Hold down the driver's side door sensor switch
2. Verify that the doors lock and unlock twice
3. Start from step 3 again

+1 can the newer mazda 3 key fobs work with the protege?

I just went to a cheap chinese place that I saw in my way and they were making keys and the guy drilled a new key using the old one for ~$5. I'd try walmarkt or canadian tire (if applicable) if I were you.
For Torontonians' reference, the place I got my 2nd key made is at Hydro place, where the food court is.

I have a 02 P5. Can anyone please tell me if the e-bay key fobs i got are the wrong ones. The number on the back is 41846

I tried the directions and called the dealer and i still cant get the remote to work.

Any help please...... thanks.

I want to say thanks for that cause I called the dealer and they said $50 to look at it and it could be $100 if they fix it. I was like, Uhhhh NO!!! I will look around and see what I can find.

Thanks for saving me cash...
