Keping Wastegate Open

Basically, for my new engine for the first 500Km's I don't want to boost at all. Just for a tank of gas. If I pull the spring right out of my TiAL 38mm, will the exhaust push it open so I don't boost at all?

why dont you just baby the pedal and accelerate slow? 1-3 psi of boost won't do any dmg. infact you want to boost a bit. just don't redline or go full throttle

Trust me. My turbo spools FAST!!! I have 10psi by 3000rpm...

I kept mine out of boost with the throttle pedal for the first 3000 km. Simple and effective.

Yup, but even then I can't go below 7psi...

You can drive the car out of boost. You should know around how hard you need to push to put load on the engine so that the turbo creates pressure. Just don't push so hard....I can go 90MPH without EVER hitting boost and go well above 3k RPM without hitting boost.

here's what you do. unhook the intercooler pipes. this is exactly how i'm running currently. no boost. the turbo spools..but in reality..nothing is happening.

What pistons do you run with that? I'm on 8.5:1 and I'm thinking without bosot it's only gonan have like 90HP or something like that lol! I wont be able to merge!

you will be fine. just baby it under acceleration, and you will be ok. Thats exactly what i did, no problems at all. you will be able to keep up with traffic and drive normally!

i have the same ones i believe. and don't fool yourself. w/ it open like htat. it still has power..promise(yupnope)

april 1st goes into paint. before hand, i'm breaking in the motor, and getting dana to tune the thing.

Be carefull if you take off the IC pipe, you could overspin the turbo.
