Kartboy's shifter bushings??

I installed the Kartboy shortshifter today but I can't figure out where you're supposed to use the yellow shifter bushings that comes with the kit. I love the throw on it now. It kicks butt compared to the stock shifter. Can someone explain where they go and maybe show a pic to be more helpful? I appreciate it.

follow the bar to the trans and you will find it. you will see it next to the down pipe.

i have the same shifter and the bushing will make it even better

Thanx T3ASE. I knew I had seen somewhere here on the internet about installing them but I couldn't remember. And I looked at the linkage and it didn't even hit me that that is where they go. I appreciate it.

Let me know how the install goes, too. Once I get my car back I've gotta put the bushings in myself so I'd like to hear what you think.

I just put my bushings on.

The directions on the Kartboy website are great, the hardest part was getting the old bushing out since it is 1 piece with a lip on both sides. I just stuck a screw driver in the hole on popped it out..I couldn't even find it, my dad did later that night when my car wasn't in the garage

Overall, the feel is a lot more solid, although now the notchiness is amplified, but it still feels much better.

Oh, and I got 3 burns on my arm, so follow Kartboy's instructions and let the car cool off ;)

yeah this is something i still gotta do.. that and cut off the front half of my heat shield. with the notchyness though.. was that amplifyed more the more you tightened it? cause mines not real notchy but i have the b&m ss. and i think i read somewhere that over tighting caused that. but i'm not 100% on this.

Yeah, I might have over tightened it. I didn't want to get out from under my car to get my torque wrench so I just went by feel(I am a lazy pile)...I'll try loosening it up.

Thanks for the tip!

edit: I always had pretty bad notchiness even after I put in Redline MT-90, but I will still try to loosen it.

Do you guys know the torque rating on the bolt that holds the shifter to the arm? I just tightened the piss out of it. Do to the size of the bolt I was guessing that it would be somewhere near the same as the bolt for the shifter bushins but I'd like to know for sure.

Torque rating for the bolt holding shifter to arm should be 12-16 ft.lbs.
Bolt on kartboy bushings should be 28-38 ft.lbs.
You don't need to tighten the shifter bolt too much as it will make shifting really difficult and notchy, esp 1st to 2nd. I loosened my shifter bolt today and shifting is noticably smoother and less notchy.
