I read that the ECU needs a few days to learn the idle with the UDP, I would assume it would need to re-learn the stock pulley again, no?

Where did you get that mirror again? I like it a lot.

^could be, not to sure...i didnt notice a difference power-wise at all, but ive only driven it once since lol
and the mirror I got from pep boys, $20, its called a Wink 5 Panel Mirror. Absolutely 0 blind spots, I love it
I believe it was originally for racing use, but i just bought it for looks :)

oh and if you mean that the ECU needs to relearn which is why the idle is bumpy, my idle has always been bumpy
not sure why, no boost/vac leaks, all sensors working properly...it just is really bumpy

Still looks great, love the horn placement :P

haha yea...been meaning to put it back where it belongs, my horn sounds so wimpy pointed up that way

maybe you need to clean your egr?

edit: wait a min do you have an egr? what i am assuming is the hole for the pipe in the headers seems to be blocked off

no lol the EGR isnt hooked up
Its not a sensor, or valve, I've checked every sensor that has to do with idle numerous times, cleaned all the valves that relate to idle
and its still low...do low compression pistons make the idle low? I haven't heard anybody else say anything so I didnt think they did?

The idle according to my ECU is at 750rpms, which is not low, but its extremely lumpy like i said before...
i can hear like every power stroke through the exhaust
and i don't have aftermarket cams lol I may just be picky

Timing perhaps? My buddies Protege was off a tooth and sounded like he had a V8 under the hood.

what does your vac read at idle? mine seems to idle a little low too but runs fine

my vac is like 21-20 in/HG at idle...it could be timing, Ill have to check it out once i get the time
it runs fine, no problems at all, just the low idle so i guess its just the pistons

I <3 gifts

my cousing ordered a turbosmart boost tee for me and it should be here sometime next week, I had one before i picked up off the forums
sold it and it was the worst mistake I've made on far with the car, its going to be awesome driving a car at 10-12psi again :)

may even get it dynoed, if i have extra money

Snow is fun to drive in...but not when u have 6" on the road, and your bumper is only 3" from the ground lol
got a huge chunk of ice stuck , pics can explain the rest

lol well I couldnt really get on it too much ...ice everywhere
that, aaaaand my BOV was jammed shut with ice and snow, so whenever i did get into boost, i got major compressor surge letting off
it sounded terrible

Thanks for those pics. I was worried that my stock fans wouldn't fit when I got the turbo in.

^No problemo

and tomm i will be doing the wire tuck everybody is doing nowadays, tucking the fuel rail wire loom underneath the intake mani
ill post pics throughout the process tomorroww so everybody can see the difference

before, s*** load of wires and ugly looking manifold

after

Today I also got halfway through the wire tuck, but i lost a vacuum line somewhere and its too dark and cold to finish
Ill post finished pics tomm. but it looks tons better already, even with the ugly stock fuel rail

Looks much cleaner. I like the wrinkle finish too. I wish there was an easy way to hide the coil packs.

What did you do? (how did you do it?) I'm taking off my manifold for a ported VTCSless manifold.

All that i did in those pics was take a grinder with a cutoff wheel,
cut the extra un-necessary brackets off and grind them smooth and paint it with wrinkle black
that's a 626 manifold btw....im not done with the wire tuck, so i didn't post any finished pics of that yet, thats coming tomorrow

the wire tuck is just cutting the loom that goes over the fuel rail, tucking it under the manifold,
and running the injector wires through the runners pretty much, no soldering or cutting of wires just the loom and tape
really cleans up the intake manifold area

finished the wire tuck today, everything went pretty smoothly, it really cleans up the bay
166527_10150117916025799_520500798_7621453_4253559_n.jpg

still need to wrap that one coil wire, but besides that everything is done

next up is to tuck the harness by the coolant temp sensor, or at least get rid of that ugly ass wire loom, and then maybe a battery relocation when i get some cash

Looks good, Another quick thing you can do is remove the hooks from the head (the ones used to pull the motor). Just keep them around if you ever need to use them. Just a suggestion.
