I laughed so hard when i saw this...lol friggin classic.

Looking good Simon, +1 on the startup video

Can't wait to see this beast run! You still gonna stick with the SSAFC?

yep, a local guy was running the same setup, minus manifold and down pipe, at 14psi with the SSAFC with 440's and didnt have any problems

Also, today I went by Harbor Freight and bought a chop saw to use when im making the pie cut section of my downpipe...did a test cut, and not too bad
Some of my other parts came in, the oil restrictor, T3 inlet gasket, 2.5"-3" transition and some studs/nuts that turned out to be too short for me to even use

Installed the turbo, wastegate adapter, and set the IC up to drain some more oil out
now all im waiting on is the V band rings and clamps, and the oil lines and then I can get this thing up and running :D

haha yea, hopefully i wont have too tough of a time with them

and today, something weird happened...I actually got all my parts in BEFORE they were supposed to arrive
ill be posting pics in a few once I upload them, but so far everything looks awesome, only thing thats kind of off, is the v band rings
the v band ring on the ATP turbo DP, is bigger then the v band rings I got from frozen boost...not by much, maybe 2 mm, but still different

nice....cant wait to ride in this thing. an then get it up on the dyno at draco next month.... hopefully ill put some good numbers down too. god i need to go forged =(

got all the bolts tight on the manifold, test fitted the oil feed, found out it hits the hood when its closed, so I cut a chunck out of the inside of the hood
clears fine, now I just have to get the hardware for the oil lines and a few other things and Ill be set to put everything together

Great vid. That top mount set up is RIDICULOUS! I love it though :D

Hope everything is alright with your issue your having. Get this beast up and running soon.

Well just looked through the windage tray, and its cyl 2 that the oil squirter broke off. Everything else is actually pretty clean lol looks like i just put it in there yesterday
Im going to start pulling the windage tray off tonight, have to look for the thread on where to drill to get those two bolts in the trans area...

Looked like a clean break, not sure yet what hit it, but nothing looks too damaged, cant see any scoring anywhere so thats good
Ill be updating less often, trying to get as much done as possible per day...back to work

lol its the section thats going to go from the modular downpipe to the rest of the exhaust...it took me forever to figure out how to weld the thin pipe without continuously blowing holes in it. I eventually figured out that if i pulsed the trigger, it wouldnt blow through, and it looks pretty cool too haha I just hate how much spatter fluxcore wire has :(

got the oil feed line on, tightening the 90* section, the actual metal part of the line twisted.....not sure why, or if its completely ****** now, but it kinda spiderwebbed the coating on it. hopefully it isnt actually cracked, its aluminum so it should be pretty flexible. Also turned out my oil pressure sending unit was leaking oil, so when i put the oil feed line it, i took out the sender and put a plug in. Have to be pretty careful if i drive the car now before I get another one, wont have a working gauge :/

Edit: the oil squirter....i read that some people are running there cars without them, soooo, question is should I go ahead and replace it? or not worry about it?
All they are really for is cooling the piston, which is good...but apparently not necessary, input?

Yea Just tap it to get the metal welded, then I laid a good bead on the weld, then cleaned up the splatter. lol Yours looks good though.

would suggest keeping the oil squirter as you are turbo'd, every little bit helps and mazda obviously put those in for a reason... your best bet would be to figure a way to get a new squirter in there, likely find a drill the same size as the hole and clear out the broken chunk and tap in a new one. grease the drill bit to keep the shaving spread to a minimum near your main and connecting rod bearings. (this is all if you can fit a drill in there. been a while since Ive been messing inside the engine and my memory sucks haha)

the gtx and gtr of the BG era also used oil squirters aswell so they wouldnt have kept them in there if they didnt do a good job.

yea...good point, guess the car can just gonna be down for a while longer. I just hate how complicated the squirters are...they could have just made them a bolt in deal, but they had to make them press in, of course. All the new BMW engines I work on in school have oil squirters so i guess they are prety helpful.
I rREALLY do not want to pull the engine out of the car, so im going to have to drill holes in the trans case to get the windage tray off, hope thats not too difficult
